HELL'S KITCHEN, *FINALE TONIGHT* May 14, 2009 9pm Fox

I like Danny but I think Paula has been the most consistent of the 2 in service. What is really going to stink for either one of them. Is moving from FL to this great state of NJ.lol

I've been watching Hell's Kitchen since the start of the season but just now found this thread. I haven't read back through all the posts but I have liked Paula and Danny from the beginning. I felt that Andrea should have left a long time ago and was sad that Bob?, the heavy set guy, had to leave due to health problems.

Too bad that Chef Ramsey had to go and say that the majority of the chefs disliked (or did he use the word hate?) Danny's dish. Would have been much nicer to have said "liked the least" but then it wouldn't make great  tv, would it?

When I heard last week that Danny wanted fish I though he wanted big mounted ones.:lmao: The designer didn't like what Danny had planed at all.

I really don't think I will like either design for their restaurants. Maybe when we see the finished product.

By the previews they are pretty close. I think Paula is still going to win.

I've been a fan of Paula's since the beginning. I have found her to be the most serious about her cooking and she seems to be able to get along well with everyone.

I love how you can just see the designer cringing when they tell him all about their "wonderful" ideas for their restaurant. :rotfl: I have a feeling that they are paying him some pretty good money for him to do what they want and not say what he really thinks. :lmao:

A GREAT episode....why you ask....because there was NO YELLING!!! O..m..g, I cannot stand when Gordon does ALL THAT YELLING week after week!!! :headache:

I am going with Paula as well. I think she is awesome and very passionate about her talents in the kitchen. Danny, I feel is also great but I just like Paula better. Does anyone else wish that Danny would cut all that hair OFF? :headache: I think it would make him look so much more professional w/o all that hair....
reminds me of the 70's! :lmao:

Can't wait until NEXT WEEK!!! :dance3:

I'd be thrilled if the show would just give him some good shampoo and conditioner and ask him to use it. It would be really nice if someone would trim the split ends off his tresses. It would be fantastic if he'd just get a decent haircut. It doesn't have to be short. But he can't be totally averse to a haircut. After all, his old man and his chick have short hair. :rolleyes1

I like long hair. He could cut off about 6 inches so it looked cleaner though. I cant decide if Paula will win (for the reasons you all stated here) or if Danny will win as a surprise/shocker. They are both very talented and likable. Maybe Gordon could be a "Pal" and let them both win? ;)

I am anxious to see next week :)

The local paper (Daytona Beach News Journal) has had a lot of articles on Danny since he's local, but haven't spilled the beans on who wins

Oh and the other day they had a picture of Robert (Gordon called him "Big Boy") visiting Danny at Flip Flops in New Smyrna Beach (where Danny's head chef). I was glad to see Robert there with Danny because the show kind of left us hanging regarding Robert's health (heart). :cutie:

:dance3: FINALE TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

I liked Danny. Either could have won and I would be happy.

I really liked Paula's room better though. Hope Danny lets a designer due his restaurant for him.

I couldn't believe Gerivonti (sp ?) He said he didn't care and didn't want to be there anyway. :sad2:

I'm so happy!!!! DH and I were clapping and crying! We wanted Danny from DAY ONE, but we just KNEW Paula was gonna win. We were ECSTATIC when Danny won!!!! DH lost his mom 4 years ago to Cancer and when Danny said that he knew his mom was looking down crying with him and so proud of him and what he had done, my hubby said "I feel ya brother" Which of course just made me cry even harder!

ROCK ON DANNY!!!

Danny won! I thought he did well but I also really liked Paula too so I was torn! :thumbsup2
Thanks! Danny stood out for me from the beginning. It took me a little longer to notice Paula but I liked her too.

I wanted Paula to win this one :(.

Me, three.

I didn't realize this show was taped in late 2007, what has he been doing for a year and a half? This was reported in our newspaper:

Ten months after Camden resident Aaron McCargo Jr. won season four of "The Next Food Network Star," Danny Veltri sliced through a field of 16 contestants to win the latest season of "Hell's Kitchen."

By winning the FOX reality show, the Edgewater, Fla., man claimed an executive chef position at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Resort. The one-year deal is worth $250,000.

Veltri, 25, and eight other contestants gathered at the Borgata Thursday night to watch the finale with fans. The series was taped in late 2007.

"It's such a great blessing to have such a great opportunity," said Veltri. "It's the best thing that ever happened to me."

Veltri's last rival, Paula DaSilva, did not attend.

Veltri said he will work under Chef Stephen Kalt this June at the forthcoming restaurant Fornelletto, site of the former Ombra.

Robert Hess, a Quogue, N.Y., who finished fifth, said the young chef has all the ingredients to be great.

"I just think Danny has a lot of qualities that chefs need today," said Hess. "He comes from a humble background and is able to do varieties of food, blue collar and white collar, and bring them all together."

For the finale, host Gordon Ramsay challenged Veltri and DaSilva to lead a team of three former teammates in a dinner service.

Season-four winner Christina Macomber, who won a position at a Los Angeles restaurant, knew what both finalists were going through.

"This is the most exciting night of your life," she said. "Chef Ramsay is looking for a leader. It can be scary or it can be a great time, depending on which kitchen you're in"
