Hi all! I've been lurking for a few days now, hoping to figure out enough to be a bit less confused about our family's upcoming trip. If I only have the vaguest notion of what I'm doing, should I ask on various boards, or post a pre-trip report thing, or what? Excited to be here- posting makes it seem less like a pipe dream!

You can ask any kind of planning questions here, but you will definitely get more traffic on the Themeparks Board - any kind of planning questions can be asked there. If your questions have solely to do with Dining or Advance Dining reservation, I would post those questions on the Dining Board.
