Dear DISboarders,
Hi! I'm Grumpys Princess, and I'm a Disney fan, a Disney doll enthusiast, and a California Girl (I was born in Southern California, I have lived in Northern California for years, and I have been to Disneyland sooo many times before).
My first favorite Disney story was that of "Snow White", although I didn't see the movie until 1993 (I turned 14 during that year). I had many hospitalizations when I was young, so I think that the first Disney movie that I saw in a theatre might have been "Roger Rabbit", but I went to see a great deal more animated Disney movies from that time onward ("Oliver & Co.", "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and The Beast", "Aladdin", and just about every other animated Disney movie through "Treasure Planet".
I love Disney dolls, and my first Disney doll was probably my Madame Alexander Snow White doll. I have tons of the first Mattel Disney dolls (Mom bought, and hid, the no-bangs Classics Collection Belle, so that she could surprise me for having gotten good grades), even though that collection isn't complete. I am currently buying some of the Singing Princess dolls from The Disney Store.
I'm totally looking forward to Snow White's 75th Anniversary. I was only 8 when the movie turned 50, and my mother wouldn't let me see it then, as it had scared her when SHE'D been young. I am glad that I was able to see it during 1993, though, and the 1993 trailer remains one of my favorites! I can still remember getting the Snow White doll during the Summer of 1993, gazing up at the stars from a lawn chair, and feeling absolutely enchanted, even at the age of 14.
I am hoping for some super "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" merchandise, because I still have my Snow White doll, but NO dwarfs (I might try to get The Prince at The Disney Store)!
Well, thank you in advance for your replies.
