Hi all! New to the boards. Starting out with a question:
I'm looking to find some pricing guidelines for a February 2012 trip but I'm running into problems.
"We did not find any rooms available at Walt Disney World® ______ Resorts for the dates you specified. (We checked a few other Resorts as well.) Please change your travel dates or your Resort selection and try again."
This message comes up on the Official WDW site, and Expedia.com isn't finding any rooms except for the Dolphin and the Swan resorts. I'm specifically wanting to stay at Pop Century again, but I would consider going to a Moderate resort if the pricing isn't too extravagant.
Does something happen in February that the entire park would be booked up? I moved the week-long stay between several weeks in February each time coming up with NO rooms available.

My name is Angela and I am twenty-six years old. I have been to Walt Disney World twice, both times staying at Pop Century resort. First trip was November 2009 for my twenty-fifth birthday. I'd planned Disneyland vacations for years prior to this trip. I had been once when I was nine years old and I really didn't take advantage of the rides. Around when I was fifteen or so I discovered Disney websites and made up dream vacation plans to Disneyland every year or so.
Disney World was never even an option in my mind. I just assumed it was unobtainable and far too expensive to even consider. My Grandfather decided to give his grandchildren some of their inheritance while he was still alive so that he could know that we did whatever we wanted with it. And so with $2000 in my hand I was trying to think of sensible things to do with such a sum of money. My parents insisted that I do something I've always wanted to do. Something for me. I believe my father was the first to say "Disneyland?"
When I told my friend I was thinking about using the money for Disneyland he said, "Forget DisneyLAND, you need to go to DisneyWORLD." I balked at the idea. Again, in my mind World was just a decadent and over-the-top indulgence. But I started looking into vacation packages and flights. I was a little rusty on my Trip Planning since I'd all but given up on the idea of ever making the Trip a reality.
Once I started getting an idea of prices, I decided on a whim to calculate a trip to World. Just to compare costs. I was so surprised to find I could pay nearly the same amount for a few days less in World compared to Land. I went to the travel agent in the mall to get some quotes made up, and I went home and used Expedia to build my own trip. I ended up saving a nice chunk of change by arranging my own trip online. My friend agreed to join me, and I immersed myself in EVERYTHING Disney. I bought the books, read them front to back and over again. I took notes. I subscribed to Touring Plans. I made up Itineraries. I was obsessed.
With all my big plans all laid out, I was ready to make the Trip of My Lifetime. I assumed that this would be crossed off my List of Must Do's and that would be that. I had seen peoples signatures with multiple years and resorts listed for all their trips. I never imagined I would want to go more than once.
But once would never be enough. I caught the bug. I wanted to go back. I booked my second trip, December 2010 in August of 2010. I lucked out and found Free Dining and paid a deposit on the room without even asking my friend. If he couldn't go, I'd find someone else to join me. I couldn't help myself.
Both trips were amazing. Words could not ever describe what elation Walt Disney World brings to me. The morning of my twenty-fifth birthday: rope drop at Magic Kingdom, holding the Mickey shaped confetti and being told to "Make a wish" before walking onto Main Street, U.S.A. for the first time. Seeing the Castle for the first time. Seeing the Castle ANYtime. I'm crying just typing this out. I turn into a mess over Disney World.
Having gone in November and December I have attended two of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parties. My first was a bit of a bust as it rained torrentially. My second was all the better when they added apple slices and apple juice to the cookies and cocoa booths. I learned so much on my first trip about what I liked and what I didn't care to return to. My second trip was much more laid back because I didn't feel the need to do EVERYthing. I would love to return for November/December but I won't have the funds until the end of January so I was hoping to book last minute. I do still want to get a general idea in my head of what I'll be paying, hence the searching now for pricing. If anyone can help me understand why no dates in February seem to be available I would greatly appreciate it.

Favorite Counter-Service Restaurant: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
Favorite Table-Service Restaurant: The Rose and Crown Pub Dining Room (the only Table Service restaurant I've eaten at! I'm big on Quick Service)
Favorite Ride: Expedition Everest and Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Favorite Disney Characters: Alice and Wendy
Favorite Disney Movies: Alice in Wonderland (animated) and Peter Pan
Favorite Disney Songs: When You Wish Upon a Star
