The parkway tolls are still $ . 35 but at some toll areas thay removed the toll in one direction like from the south side so at that toll on the north side the toll is $ .70.
The New Jersey Turnpike is a lot more $ then what it use to be.

Pumping your own gas is still a no no in NJ. The only people who can do this is if you are on a motorcycle. The gas attendent will not take the chance of getting fuel all over your bike:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :moped:
So if any felo DISER see a car with Jersey plates at the gaspump in your state give them a hand :confused3 "if it is a lady" I see a lot of them pull in and sit in the car waiting for help. I go over and tell them you have to pump your own. What how do you do that is what the Jersy people will say.

You know this is so weird to me. I just found this out last month from a friend of mine that lives in Verona and I was so shocked. I have never had someone pump my own gas. I remember growing up it was a big deal to be tall enough to get the pump and put in the gas for mom, I think I was 7.

Why is it illegal?:confused3

Why is it illegal? Somebody in the state Gov must like to to enploy people to fill your gas tank. He might not like the smell of gas on his hands:rotfl2:

The law was passed in 1949 making it illegal to pump our own gas. The power of be thought it was dangerous for untrained people to pump gas. So New Jersey and Oregon are two state with this law.

Okay, here's a weird question.

I am driving through NJ on my way to Maryland in 2 weeks. I have a Mobil speedpass. If I stop at a Mobil or an Exxon, will I be able to use my speedpass even though someone else is pumping my gas?

I'm glad I saw this thread, or I know I'd be getting out of the car to try and do it myself! Or driving around until I found the pump that said "Self"!!

We always have problems with American gas stations!

In the UK we will up with petrol (gas) then go into the station to pay. Its so different in the US, we are apparently meant to guess how much it will take to fill up our rental car and pre-pay in the states! We get so confused, and we get some very odd looks from the locals!

We always try and find a BP station now, its British petrolium, they should be able to help us confused Brits! :rotfl:

Well there be no sign for self. But I don't see you having a problem with speedpass. I guess the attendant would swipe our Mobil pass for you.

I would be scared to pump my own gas! im scared to put air in the tires by myself! (i'm a sissy)

I'd be afraid of some static charge blowing me and the gas station up.

I made a friend follow me to wawa once to help fill my tires for me. I had no clue what I was doing, I was afraid I'd blow up my tires too big.
