I am planning a trip for a party of 8 ppl (4 Adults and 4 kids - 8 to 12). We are staying at All Star Movies and have our grand gathering number. How difficult is it to make ADR's for a party of 8? Do we need to split up and ask for 2 tables? We are traveling Dec. 19-27. Any other help would be much helpful. :worship:
Here are the ADRs we are thinking about:
1900 Park Fare Dinner(1st time)
Sci-Fi or Prime Time 50's - can't decide
Coral Reef (1st time)
Ohana (Love it, Love it)
Tusker House Breakfast (1st time)
San Angel Inn (1st time)
Crystal Palace
And one more...can't decide between...Whispering Canyon, Liberty Tree, The Wave

Use your grand gathering number when you make your ADRs and the restaurants will do what they can to seat you together. We went with a group of 14 people last December and we were always seated together at the same long table or 2 tables of 8 right next to each other.

If it helps here's where we ate.......

Teppan Edo - 2 different tables diagonally from each other. Each table seats 8 so that would work for your group!

Chef Mickey- one long table up against a booth. adults on inside kids on outside in chairs to meet characters.

Biergarten - 2 tables of 8 right next to each other. (kids had a blast here)

CRT - again tables pushed up against a booth with adults on inside and kids on outside. we were all in a row for this meal just like chef mickey's.

1900 Park Fare - 2 separate round tables diagonal from each other. we were too far apart from each other at this meal plus it was chaotic and noisy so we couldn't really talk to each other.

Brown Derby - on big long table for 14. very nice dinner there and seating was comfortable

Ohana - one big long table for all of us. We had a great table here in the middle of the room it was lovely.

Hollywood and Vine - one big long table in the corner. great spot for us and very fun lunch!

Have fun!!!!

oops i didn't scroll down your post to see that you asked questions about specific restaurants. sorry!

we just got back and had a party of 8, we ate at most of the same reaturants you want to and had no problems sitting together, the only place we were split up was at Sci-fi. you will be charged an 18% gratuity as you have more than 6 people, we didn't mind that but did find in 3 out of our 7 dinners it seemed our service wasn't up to par as they knew they were getting the 18% and didn't have to try.

Just booked for 11. I did book them under 2 different resort ressie #'s just b/c free dining makes booking more difficult. Have done 8 in the past and had no problems and we always sat together. Good luck!

I have 8 on my next trip (TOMORROW!!) and had no problems getting ADRs. I actually just used the online reservation system.

we are also a party of 8 in Dec (9-19th) and I have had zero problems getting ADR- chef mickey, coral reef, le cellier, garden grill 50s pt, Ltt,- GOOD LUCK!!

We have a party of 10 and I was wondering if I can book my ADRs online or if I have to wait and call.

I did 8 for all my reservations for our trip in 10 days. 'Ohana, Chef Mickeys, Boma, Kona, Mama Melrose, Teppan Edo, Tutto, Crystal palace. Did some online, and then called cause I was having internet trouble, but they all seem fine now.

Ok, so we are a party of 14. I am debating on whether to book seperately online, or call to book all together. If booking online, does anyone know if they give you an option, to enter your GG #?

Thanks for all the info. Couple of more questions...

Me too...where do I put in our GG #? Does the GG # mean anything when using it for dining? Was hoping to book them online early Saturday night/Sunday morning. I'm new to booking online...always just called in the past. But hear (read) I can book earlier online then waiting to call.

Now let me try and explain our situation....We have more family and friends that are traveling with us (total in the grand gathering group is 16) but don't want to eat or hang out together every night. My group of 8 is made of two parties of 4 - under two separate ressie numbers...does that matter when I make the ADR's? Can I book a party of 8 only using my ressie #? Also, can I make 1 reservation for all 16 people just using my ressie # or do I need everyone's number? Should I book 2 party of 8's?

Thanks again...sorry for all the questions.
