Hello! I'm new, i've been reading around and have posted a few messages over the past week or so but haven't really introduced myself! My name is Stacey, DF's name is Bruce. We are getting married at home in WNY (6/7/08!!!) But we are honeymooning at Disney!!! I've always been a Disney nut, went almost every year growing up and I haven't been there in a little over 5 years so I'm so excited!! We are having a "beach" themed wedding at home, any ideas how i can incorporate a little bit of the Disney magic in?? I'm not overly creative!! Also, while i've been to Disney a lot, future hubby has never been, any tips or special things we should remember to make not only the honeymoon but his first trip special?!?! Can't wait to get to know everyone! Thanks!! :bride:

Congrats and welcome!!! I'm a newbie too... :)

I've gotten so many idea's from reading people planning journals as far as favors and stuff that you can buy/make to make your wedding/reception disneyfied! That's probably a good start!

Congrats & welcome to the boards

We look forward to hearing all the details about your wedding(disney or not)

As for your questions.....there are alot of girls that had beach themes for their Disney wedding, so there should be some great ideas here....what are your colors & which type of Disney theme would you like to incorporate..mickey, princess, etc

& for your DFs 1st trip to WDW....over at the Parks boards, they have this excelent secrets/ideas/tips thread with TONS of stuff to do

How exciting!!!
Keep us posted:thumbsup2

Hi Stacey! :) Welcome! I'm pretty new here too..but everyone is SO nice. You are going to love this board. Congrats on the upcoming wedding! I love the idea of a beach theme. (of course...i live in FL! lol) I would look at incorporating either Little Mermaid or even Nemo (i love Nemo). Though if you like princesses...Little Mermaid would be best. As for your Disneymoon/his First Trip I would make sure you hit the major attractions, make sure you get your "Just Married" AND "First Time" buttons from a CM too. Plan a special meal somewhere, preferably character dining since that is very "Disney". Ohana has a great breakfast, or Chef Mickey's (call way in advance on that one..they book up fast!) or try Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner..thats an amazing meal with all the fave characters (last time i was there it was Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale, and I think Pluto). If I think of anything else I'll let you know! Oh!! Don't forget to ride in the front of the monorail! That is an amazing experience for a first-timer! :) Just ask one of the CMs around the station and they will take you up there.

Congratulations and Welcome to the DIS!! Looking forward to your planning journal. A beach theme wedding you say? I can't think of anything off the top of my head for Disney Magic, but there are plenty of couples on here that are doing a similar theme. I would read their planning journals to get some ideas. As for the honeymoon, I would do a day of the "classic" disney stuff (Haunted Mansion, POTC, Space Mountain, etc.), and then have a day (or evening) of the non-Mickey stuff (a nice dinner at GF or a day at the marinas). That way he gets the best of both worlds.

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to reading all the planning and trip reports!! Our colors are light tropical blue, silver and white. If i had to pick specific characters i'd have to say Lilo&Stitch (although trust me, my disney heart will now forever belong to Mr Captian Jack Sparrow!! ) I'm not big on the princesses, but i know my bridesmaids are so finding a way to work that into their favors and such would be great too!! We got engaged in October and I was like, please I have like 18 months to plan, sooo now its down to 12, where did the time go!!! :scared1: Gotta get movin and get some ideas!!

WOW: you could totally incorporate lilo & stitch cause your colors go with it to.....so a tropical hawaii theme could work!! how fun!!

I love Cap jack & will turner too!!!;)

Welcome and congrats!! I cant wait to hear more :)

Oh Lilo & Stitch - how fun!

What is the size of your guest list? Because if you didn't have too many people, you could use the Lilo & Stitch photo holder for place cards at the reception. (Check-out aprincess72's trip report, page 5, post #69, 4th picture down shows the Lilo & Stitch one.)

DF & I each got one of these on our last trip to WDW - they are sooo cute! I think they were about $12.50 ~6 months ago.

Can't wait to hear more details! :surfweb: Happy planning!

Aww those are adorable, unfortunately we are looking at 190-200 ppl on the list (assuming about 150 will show up) that could get kind of pricey! Bummer! Thanks for the great idea though, i can start hunting around for something similar thats maybe a teeny bit cheaper!!!!

Hi there!
I'm a newbie also! (there seem to be a lot of us lately!) I'm also getting married at home but will be going on a Disneymoon. We're getting married Dec. 27, 2008, so we'll be having a Christmas themed wedding.

I'm also trying to do some small Disney touches for the wedding. A friend of mine thought of maybe a Mickey or Minnie cake topper. When my DF and I were in WDW in February we saw some really nice Mickey and Minnie champane flutes that we would love to use as toasting glasses.

Congratulations and Welcome!! I'm new, I'm from Buffalo, so we're close to each other.. heh. My DF and I aren't planning on getting married until December 2009 so I'll be lurking for awhile before I start a PJ. I can't wait to read yours!! :goodvibes

Welcome! I'm a newbie, too! Glad you're here. :goodvibes

As for ideas for your wedding, you'll find a TON of them here! Everyone has info on favors, decorations, etc. so it's an endless realm of goodies!

Congratulations on getting married!!

Congratualtions... WELCOME ... Cant wait to hear about your wedding details

Congratulations and welcome!!!
You'll find a lot of good info and great people on this board!:goodvibes
With the color scheme, you should be able to incorporate Stitch into your wedding pretty easily. One tip: keep an eye on the disneyshopping.com - they have an "outlet" section and sometimes you can get cute things for decent prices. Don't forget to check eBay!!:thumbsup2
As far as the honeymoon is concerned...there's TONS new since your last trip and since he's never been you're going to have so much fun! :woohoo: Some especially good things to do would be a nice dinner (California Grill - during Wishes if you can, Artist's Point, Le Cellier, Yachtsman's Steakhouse), a fun night out - maybe try Jellyrolls and then cruise the Boardwalk, you might want to get tickets to see Cirque du Soleil - it's a great show and there's really not a bad seat in the house.
As previously mentioned, be sure to get your Just Married pins and (if you can talk your DF into it) the bride and groom ears!
Where are you staying????
Happy planning!!!

Thanks - everyone has been so welcoming and nice, its awesome! I have so many great tips already! I'm so excited to go back to disney, i miss it, and i keep hearing about all the new things! When we go we will probably stay at one of the Values, i think i'd like to stay at Pop Century. We are doing a pretty expensive wedding/reception at home before we go, and I want to make sure we have plenty of money in our budget to get to any attractions and restaurants down there without having to count pennies! Any pros/cons of staying here? Can't wait to start the planning journal! Although, and i know this question has been asked a million times, how do i post pictures etc? HOw many posts do i have to have before i can do so??
:confused3
