Well, some of you know that Mike and I are celebrating our engagement at the RPR. Crazy that we are, we **HAD** to upgrade to Club Level while we were here. The good news is that they now have Internet access from the Club Lounge! Awesome. Time is limited to 15 minutes a clip, and there's a printer here too.

The weather has been cool and cloudy, but we're having a great time!

See everyone soon!

xoxo

:bride: :groom: :lovestruc Congratulations on your engagement!
What a great way to celebrate :cutie:

Hi Jodie...hope you are having fun :flower: Were you in the park when the Hulk had problems? They showed some on our local news but not much..just that rescue workers had to use something to get one of the riders off???? Have fun!!!

Hi Jodie! :wave2:
Hope the weather warms up for you! Enjoy:)

We were at the studios when the Hulk had its computer glitch and didn't find out about it till we were watching the news later that night!

Oh, I have one little vent: parents, this computer in the club lounge isn't meant to babysit your kids! You can't believe the # of parents who park their kids here, and are oblivious to the 15 minute rule!

I have some scandalous dirt here in the club lounge -- I think someone got kicked off the club floor! More on that later!

I totally agree,, had the same thing happen when we stayed at the PBR last August. We desperately needed to print off some info of a little resort we were going to stay at after leaving Universal, and this one family had kids on both the computers in the club lounge, grrrrrrrrrr. After 30 minutes, we finally had to get one of the staff members to help us out,,lol. No parent ws in sight either. Very annoying.

have a great trip! Congrats on the engagement!

Have fun at RPR and congratulations on your engagement! I can't wait to hear the club level dirt. :teeth: Have a great time!! I hope you write a trip report when you return. I always enjoy reading yours.

Here's some of the dirt on the ejection from the club lounge:

Blonde guy in a pink shirt asks for a 7 & 7 during happy hour (twenties?). He complains that they only have sprite so he orders something else. Maybe 40 minutes later, one of the club level staff, housekeeping, security, and a few managers are hoarded around his door, and one of the club level staff announces that she'd prefer not to have him on this floor as he scares her (don't know why). A few minutes later guy in the pink shirt is complaining to security that he'd better get his money back. Security lady says that's up to the hotel. guy in the pink shirt asks for another mixed drink, and club staff refuses to serve him. The next day, he's no where in sight!

I'm trying to get one of the s here in the lounge to give me the full skinny.

Stay tuned!

How interesting!! I thought the club level lounge only served beer and wine??? Or is it that there is truly a "bar" and only the wine and beer are complimentary at certain times? We leave on Saturday morning on our first trip ever to US/IOA and we are sooo excited! Since we are on club level at the HRH I will make sure my teens do NOT monopolize the computer or use it over 15 minutes! How rude some people can be. :confused3 How sweet you guys are for keeping us all informed--it is truly appreciated and enjoyed

Well, I'm sneaking on one more time before we head to City Walk for tonight. :)

First, I have to say that the food in the club lounge has been the BEST EVER and I haven't even needed to eat dinner! The first night we had spare ribs, the second night chicken skewers, last night was grilled chicken and artichokes, and tonight was LONDON BROIL with potatoes and shrimp/pasta salad. YUM! As always, there have been veggies and dips, gourmet cheeses and ers, and chips, salsa, and guacamole. I am a very happy camper!

Frannie, only beers and wine are free. Mixed drinks are $5 a pour and are charged to your room account.

Also, there is EVEN MORE DIRT on the Club level! Another couple was escorted from their room last night (Club level is worth it just for the entertainment IMHO). Another man got in the way of a couple, and two men were fighting in the couple's room and breaking dishes from room service from 12:20 AM TO 5:30 AM last night. They were fighting and banging around in the room, and one of our neighbors across the hall gave us an inside scoop, and then the club lounge filled in the rest of the details. Security was called, and that couple was required to "check out!"

Plus, the club level staff is worth it. They have all been excited over our engagement and want to be invited to the wedding. Most of them recognized us from our visit for HHN too, and I finally got them to call me Jodie instead of Miss P. They feel I'm family now.

We have been taking some pictures and will post a TR when the pictures come back.

One more thing... when I log on from the RPR Club lounge, I am automatically logged in. I can't find in the new format not to accept cookies, or else anyone else can log in as me. Can anyone help me out?

Jodie,
Couldn't you just Log Out using the button on the upper right at the end of your DIS session? I would think that should clear the cookies, no?

Thanks for the live reports.
I'm sure they could open a room full of computers where people would pay to use them. On a ski trip last year, the hotel had a row of them, where you would put money into a bill collector and get time. When I drive up again, I'll have to look for an internet cafe. I'm flying out to LA in March, and my hotel is across the street from one.

Congrats!!!

It sounds like great entertainment! Any suggestions on rooms with views?

Hope you're having a great time, Jodie! :) Sorry I didn't get to see you on Sunday :(

Jodie, we looked for you but never saw you. Internet at the Hard Rock was $10 for 15 minutes in the business office. Needless to say, we didn't use it!

I sent a snail mail to the main Loews office and the RPR asking when they're gong to have Internet in every room thru the TV. I could care less about a news paper.
It's weird how hotels have all these ammenities, yet the room phone costs a ton so no one never uses it, and what most would like is free internet. They'll have hair dryers, coffee makers, coffee, and so on.
But a fridge, free local calls, and internet? Nope. Instead, it's a mini bar most don't use, a cell phone, and no internet unless you want to pay thru the nose.

damo, sorry we missed you! We were in both parks on Monday 1/31, pretty much for most of the day.

We missed phamton too, even looked for her in the single riders line at MIB. Could have used her help this trip!

Flyfly, we were at the 2:30 BGGYR on Saturday. That's when I thought you'd be there. (my mistake!) We were at the 3:45 GB show on Sunday. Was your mom there? I saw someone who looked like her waiting early and right in front. Was your dad there Sunday too? Not at the GB show, but we were on MIB with a single rider on Sunday who looked like your dad. He maxed out.

Robvia, no lie about the telephone charges in the room. This is definitely something to look out for. We checked our bill, and someone was trying to make local calls while we were out of the room. We couldn't figure out what the local call charges were since we only called room service and star service. We asked in the Club Lounge, and it was a non-working #. Nonetheless, we were charged $1 everytime this person tried to call. They had no problems taking the calls off our bill. All these calls were just before 8 pm, and the Club Lounge knew that we always left Happy Hour to go to City Walk for the night.

Jodie - I was at the 2:30 GYR...only my friend wanted me to sit beside the sound booth in the back, and not up front....lol. Both my mom and I were at the 3:45 GB Show...I'm sure she was the one you saw waiting up front. She would have been saving a spot for my grandmother, and her sister...so if there were 2 or 3 women around the same height (5') standing front and center...that's them...LOL. I ended up seeing the 12:45, 2:00, 3:45, AND 5:00 GB Show that day. Any chance you'll be at Universal this Saturday and/or Sunday? If so I'll be there.

Whoops - this is Flyfly.... :p
