Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Michelle, I'm from Canada, and I am planning to marry at WDW in May 2007. Yay!

I'm so happy I found this board - I've been searching for other Disney wedding people and am so glad I finally found you!

My fiancee and I have to wait a few more months before they will let us book anything, but we are really looking at SeaBreeze point, we remember it being beuatiful there last time we were at WDW.

I have 2 questions I hope some of you very experienced planners might be able to help with:

1) We would like to have the reception at the boardwalk, but with only 30 people coming, it seems like it would be a very large space for so few people. Are they able to tailor the space for you? Or is it possible to have the reception on a patio outside or something?

2) How much do you think is a resonable amount of money to ask your guests to pay for their vacation? All of the guests have shown interest in park tickets and the dining plan, and we will all be staying for 8 days. I am thinking between $1500-$2000 per person would be resonable, which will include flights, at a moderate resort. Am I totally off base here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Michelle

I'm from Toronto, and having a Disney Wedding in August. I'm not sure what exactly is available for 20 people at the Boradwalk, but I've PM'd you a couple things that might help you

Welcome to the boards

Remember that most of your costs depends on time of year. I am not sure what the 2007 prices are.

For the Boardwalk. The only one I can think of would be maybe Ariels or the Attic. Other venues may be the California Gill in the Napa room? Just keep an open mind. There are places to choose from that will be nice if your first choice doesn't work out.

As for what to plan for people to save, it really is hard to estimate this far out. You can give them a general idea, but it depends on what season you are going for. Ticket prices go up pretty much every year.

Hope that this helps!

Welcome!

The St. James Ballroom at the Boardwalk would also work for your size group. It has a patio that you could have either your cocktail hour or your reception on depending on the time of year.

My sis is getting married in Dec 06 and this is where she is having her reception. She'll have about 40-50 people and we should all fit in there fine. We went to look at it one day and it is really nice...the patio off the side is really nice and helps make it feel like you have so much more room!!

seabreeze point is very pretty. for a reception nearby at the boardwalk, theres actually a smaller room "the attic" with a patio. theres also the larger atlantic dance hall & the convention center ballrooms. you could also head over to ariels at the beach club which is where were having our reception for 52. ariels has a seaside theme.

as for a reasonable amount for guests, that can vary depending on your guests income, etc. not every guest is going to spend the week. give guests the option of value, moderate & deluxe so they can tailor it to their needs. a typical disney vacation per commercials is $1500 for a week for a family of 4 at a value resort. were providing our guest rooms but our guests are still paying for airfare, food & fun i would say on average $600 per person & most of our guests are staying 4 or 5 days.

best of luck with your plans!

28 days to go! :bride: twojo21
