Hi all,

Just popped in to take care of a little business, yep had to do a little of that while on the trip. But not much. ;)

A couple of quick updates for all of the obsessive planners out there.

If you are on LAP rotation - your character breakfast will be Monday morning. Early seating has an 8:15 breakfast. We had Palo brunch reservations that day - it is as to die for as reported! We went and just had coffee and a piece of toast so we could pig out at brunch!

The dining rotation has changed up again.

Saturday, Sunday, Monday - the regular restaurant menu - with Monday being formal night.

Tonight - Tuesday is Small World

Wednesday will be Mexical night

Thursday is Semi-formal and the menu that night is Captain's Gala with the lobster.

Friday is Master Chef's series.

If anyone is thinking about the Stingray excursion in GC I highly recommend it. And don't be shy about holding the rays, etc. We took Disney's Stingray City - just that, no turtle farm or He..

It was a large boat but not so many people that there wasn't attention. The sandbar is not large - so it is going to be crowded no matter what. And in a sense that helps as the waves are fairly strong - you're actually 6 miles out into the ocean. EVERYONE, and I mean everyone screams when the first few rays skim past them. Our 13 year old DD didn't stay in the water to long, she is about 5'5" and the waves were enough that she was having a really hard time keeping her feet. Her dad helped her through the experience and after about 15-20 minutes she was ready to get out of the water. I did ask (knowing that inquiring minds want to know) if this was a busy/slow day and whether it should be considered calm/rough. I was told it was a slow day - only about half dozen boats out that morning and very calm.

Ok, that is all for now. Heading back to the stateroom to change for dinner, Castaway Club reception is tonight also.

Deb

Hey Deb,
:( I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO JEALOUS.......I don't cruise until January 2004. So...since I have to wait so long it is great reading everyone elses trip reports especially if they are live from the ship, thanks ;) . Hope you are having a "Magical" time on board. If you go to Dueling Piano's tell Fidelio hi from "Travel Agent Gal" Diane. We also will be doing the Western Caribbean and have never done it before so I can't wait.
Keep the reports coming.......Diane:earsgirl:  :earsgirl:

Thx for sharing! Have a blast!

glad you're having fun!! thanks for posting more info about the Stingray excursion. Was the trip over rough waters also or just when you're at the STingray Bar? I am under 5/5 so wonder how I will do since I'm not that comfortable swimming in the ocean. Do they have life vests for added security? I also have an 11 yr old who is under 5 feet!

Did DCL have a professional photographer taking pics of you guys?

A few days late, but here is a photo of the Magic going past the Two Palms cam on Saturday June 21, 2003.

Thanks so much for updating us. You're the last western before our cruise, so I'm taking exhaustive notes :)

Thanks for posting - only 87 days til I'm on board again.

Enjoy the rest of the cruise

Back home now and in the process of unpacking, doing laundry, etc.

Verandah Man...I copied the photo you posted so I can print it later if you don't mind. Great for the scrapbook.

tezb - the water itself was not at all rough. In fact the ride out was remarkably smooth and flat. That was part of what made the waves surprising. In point of fact they probably were not all that big - I'd guess from flat to peak they were about 1.5 to 2 feet - but enough to make keeping footing difficult.

As for photos of the Stingray excursion - DCL didn't have a photographer there but the excursion folks at both still and video going. I goofed up and forgot to take enough cash or plastic to place my order on board but no problem man...the photog gave me the necessary info and I emailed him later that day with my order and payment info. They send the photos and videos to everyone anyway.

Will try to post a complete report by end of the week. DH has to work a major holiday event so I should have time.

Just a couple of quickies that came to mind for those going soon.

If you're traveling with teens (flying) have their passports handy if you're using those - if not their driver's license or if they don't have a license a school photo ID should be handy. Mine are 13 & 15. BOTH were asked for photo ID in Atlanta. Now DD is 13 - she didn't have too much problem when I went digging for her's the first time. But my son is 15, stands 6'3" and weighs in at 220. Having also decided this wasn't a week he was going to shave! he had a little more difficulty. Fortunately that was on the home leg and he had his passport in his pocket from disembarkation yet.

Also - shopping on Castaway Cay. Go in the morning when you get off the ship for best selection. Then ask them to send your package back to the ship! In all my reading of the boards this was one I'd missed. But found out from one of Treasure Ketch CMs that this was an option. I'll bet only about 6-10 people took advantage of it! You pick your package up at Upbeat after 6:30 pm.

Feel free to post any other questions you might have. Oh and no Fidelio at Dueling Pianos - Tommy and Anton.
Deb

Deb,

Sounds like you had a great time. I can't wait to see those scrapbook pages.

Thanks for the tip on shopping at Castaway Cay. I didn't know that but that would make sense.

Deb

I think I've just had a major stroke. WHAT?!!!!!!!!!

Rae

Oh my gosh.......say it isn't so......this is unjust and not right!!!!
It will be so hard not to go to Dueling Piano's this coming January and not see Fidelio. This is a MAJOR adjustment here...quick....get me my oxygen.

Okay, now we both need defribillators and oxygen!

This is more than unjust and not right, dianedisney! It's unAmerican! You know, Mom, apple pie and Fidelio!! The American way!

Rae

PLEASE tell Fidelio that we will have a protest if he doesn't play for us at least ONCE during our cruise! After all, a large part of his fan club will be there!!!!

He and Disney can't disappoint his fans! Please tell him!!

Rae

Rae, did you see this post, I just read it.
