Hello from St.Lucia

Just had to check my email for work and thought I'd make a quick post here

We are having a brilliant time, the weather is very hot (90's+) although it has been quite cloudy and has rained once. Hopefully it will brighten up a bit as the week goes on.

We're going scuba diving/snorkeling tommorow and today visited the shops and the market at Castries and relaxed after all the stress of moving!

Aaahh...St. Lucia.

We got married there in 1990, at the Green Parrot Hotel.

If you get the chance go to the Friday night " Jump Up ".

Forget the name of the town it's in ( mind you after Castries there aren't many others anyway! ), but your hotel will know.

Goes on from about 7 - 2 a.m. basically a huge, huge street party, speaker systems at every corner blasting away, street vendors carrying buckets full of iced bottles of Heineken and Red Stripe for sale. Loads of stalls selling yummy barbecued chicken and fish. The atmosphere is absolutely tremendous, everyone has a good time and no aggro or danger at all.

We also took a day to fly to Martinique.....in a 12 seater plane. I distinctly remember the pilot seeing a school of dolphins and dropping from 2000 feet to 50 feet in about 4 seconds ( so it seemed ! ) to give us a better view of them. I'm not the best flyer in the world and this sudden dive almost had a laxative effect on me!!!!!

Great destination, great honeymoon.

Just read this, and I really hope that you are having the most amazing time. Any info when you get back about St Lucia for me would be tremendous, because this is my geography topic that I have to teach after half term to Year 5's. Sadly the school is not willing to pay for me to conduct the necessary first hand research. LOL Carolyn
