Hi Everyone,

Im Simone and I've been reading DIS for the past week. I finally bit the bullet and decided to join. A bit about myself, I come from Sydney Australia. part time working mummy to one son Brandon who is 3 and one daughter Peyton 2. I live with my partner of 8 years Steve and we (I am) are currently planning our first trip to WDW!:banana::banana:

We are planning to go late April/early May 2011. I am slowly getting my head around all there is to learn. I like to plan so this board is helping immensely! So far we have decided to stay 2 weeks off site to do WDW and some other local attractions (Universal, Sea World). It is crazy how much there is to take in and organize: Flights, car hire, accommodation, tickets, food options, itinerary :confused3 Thank god I found you :worship:

Looking forward to getting to know you and learning all about everything Disney!

Welcome To The Board

I am also from Australia I will be going to both DL and WDW we are going in August this year

Hi Simone and Welcome!!:cheer2: Greetings from Cairns Australia

I am also a mum with older children going to WDW in September 2010.

These boards are a wealth of information and I am sure you will find plenty of tips and planning ideas as I have.

Have a great trip!!:)

Hi I"m another Aussie Mum who always finds the info on these boards amazing . I knew that there would be some planning needed for our Sept 2010 holiday to WDW but had no idea "just how much is required" the help available on the boards is just fantastic. Enjoy.:)

Welcome you guys. Been to the "world " 7 times (even was nice enough to take my kids some of those times:goodvibes) We're going back as a family unit plus our best friends in October 2010. Booked our house with mickey shaped pool:cheer2:

Welcome to the DIS!! Good luck planning and have a magical trip!! :goodvibes

Welcome, welcome, welcome!!

It takes an amazing amount of planning to take a trip that far and long, but enjoy the planning -- it really is half the fun. The planning, then anticipation, etc.

We had the opportunity to go to Sydney last June. It is really hard to plan something to somewhere that is soo far and different (you know what I mean) that no matter what anyone tells you, it is hard to feel you have done all and seen all on a maybe-once-in-a-lifetime-trip! So read up here and ask questions! LOL

BTW, we stayed in the Rocks area and got as far out as the Hunter Valley and think you live in a fantastic country!

Have you ever gone so far before? The plane ride was the only (BIG) dislike of the trip! Sorry!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :D

It is so overwhelming to plan a trip sooo far away. I've been as far as Hawaii. :thumbsup2 I'm glad you like Sydney, the Rocks is such an old historical area of Sydney. Did you go out the the Hunter for a winery tour?

Hi!

Yes, we did the Hunter Valley tour! We loved it. We saw beautiful country-sides, kangaroo and some of the best wine we have ever had!! I have tried everything to buy it here (Bimbadgen was our absolute favorite)! Wanna ship me some? Bring some in your suitcase?? LOL Seriously, though, if you have any questions, please ask. I will be happy to help!

P.S., the PEOPLE of Australia are what really made the trip great!

Simone,

Also pop over to the other lands section. We have our own Aussie board to discuss all things Disney from an aussie perspective.

All the way from Oz for 2 weeks

Can you not extend the trip? - Have a look at a villa in kissimmee there are usually some good deals about and you get a lot more for your money

If it's your first time try to do 3 days in a park and then a day off - you'll need it!
Do a spreadsheet of the days so you know where your going
Check for public holidays and avoid the parks - way too busy!!!

This was our last trip schedule - it was a bit tiring as well
Fri - Arrive
Sat - NASA
Sun - Epcot
Mon - AK
Tue - Florida Mall
Wed - US
Thur - SW
Fri - IOA
Sat - Mall of Milenia
Sun - Downtown Disney
Mon - SW
Tue - US
Wed - MK
Thur - HS
Fri - Premium Outlet Mall
Sat - Epcot
Sun - Travel home

That was hard going but the rest/shopping days do come in handy
If you can go for 3 weeks you can spread it out even more and not kill yourself going all day every day in the parks

Enjoy :thumbsup2

:welcome: :disrocks:, hope you find all you need and I hope you have fun when you get here:cheer2:

Hi from another Aussie. You will have a fabulous time at WDW and find these boards to be a wealth of information. We have been to WDW twice in the last 3 1/2 years for a month each time (last time included a Disney cruise) and I couldn't have done it without the boards.
Can't wait to read about your plans as you go along.

Welcome to the boards. Just a warning.... Disboards is addictive, particularly when you are planning a trip :rotfl:

As mentioned there is an Australian board in the other lands area. You can find it here http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=177

There is also a great thread and links in the Disneyland Forum.

We are off to WDW in Sept/Oct this year for 22 nights and its just so exciting planning the trip. Enjoy planning your trip :wizard: It's really fun. (little tip, if you are looking at an Aussie Travel agent for your Disneyland or WDW accommodation or package, then compare prices booking direct with Disney online or by phone or using a disney specialist TA in the USA as the Aussie TA's are so expensive when it comes to Disney holidays) there is info on this in the Australian board.
