Hello from a new bride

HI there. My fiance Josh and I are going to Disney World for our honeymoon in September. I've been several times but he's only been once and was 8 years old at the time. I also used to be a travel agent and took a special course on the amenities of the park and the hotels in Orlando. My question is, how do I make the trip special for both of us without souding like a know-it-all telling him everything I know about Disney?

I too am honeymooning (and marrying) at Disney in September!
I am in a similar situation, I've been to WDW several times and DF has never been. I am trying to let DF be a major part of planning what we do, but he says that since "I know", he'll just go along with it. I've picked out plenty if activities that I've never done before, and restraunts that I've never ate at before. We are looking forward to the romantic horse and carriage ride, the Poly Luaa (sp?) and just experiencing the parks TOGETHER for the first time. We are also staying at a wdw resort that I've never been too before. Also we will have our wedding guests down there with us for a few days, so he will have time to experience Disney with his friends and family while I do the same.

You could get your fiance the book "WDW for couples" and have him highlight the activities that he would like to do. That way he is reading about what it is and gets excited about experiencing it with YOU. Also have him read through the descriptions of restraunts so you know where you would like to make PS. I think this will make him feel like he is part of the planning and not just taking directions from you. I hope this helped!

We are honeymooning at WDW during Labor Day week. She was there 4 years ago, I have not been since '92. We have talked about what we want to do, but have decided to just kinda play it by ear. We are going to make reservations for Cirque, but other than that, we just want to enjoy our honeymoon. From what I have heard, it is slow enough in September that its just not necessary to make all these rervations ahead of time. If thats not true, oh well, I am sure we will still have a good time. After all the stress of a wedding, who needs timetables on the honeymoon.

I FULLY agree! Not only are we planning a wedding and honeymoon in September but we're going to New York for a week in August. We're going to be SOO busy this summer!

Wow what a busy time you are gonna have.

I agree with the play it by ear. You could just see what your then husband will want to do each morning and then with your knowledge you'll be able to act accordingly and tailor the day around his wants. You'll be just as happy going with that as you'll have so much fun watching his reactions to all the new stuff

A month before our trip, I did so much research it was so not funny. I had about fifteen pages of notes for my trip (it was including our hotel, air travel, and auto travel to the parks). My husband was afraid that I may be too busy trying to be "on the clock" then enjoying our honeymoon. I mainly did an outline of things...like timelines, rides I wanted to ride first, etc. And find out which rides will not be running...just basic stuff like that and I didn't really follow my long pages of notes at all. I just used tips that I found online from other members here and on other webpagse about how to go on rides faster, weather, and which parks to go on certain days...things of that nature. My husband was glad that I did the research because if I didn't have my notes our trip would have been stresseful. If I didn't put the time and energy on knowing how to go places, fastpasses, etc. we would have been grumpy.

We will be there in September too! (the 8-15th). I am reading up on things, finding out what days which parks open early, and making PS for the places we HAVE to eat at... other than that, it is pretty open. And, it is our honeymoon... we may not go to that hour we can get in early.

Our wedding is the 18th and we are going to be there from the 15th until the 25th.

Have a great time and just think about your soon to be husbands face when he looks down mainstreet, that is the best!
