I have be absent for quite awhile--we have had so many life changes and a house remodel going on for most of last year--but I am back to participate again....maybe no one even remembers me or knows I was missing? ;)

Anyway, I am looking forward to joining in some swaps and scrapbooking chat again this year. I would also love to host a swap(small)on this forum, but probably not just yet.

I have finally got my scrapbooking/craft room back together. I wanted to share a photo here because it is Disney themed in the decor. My Mom made this beautiful quilt for me to hang on the wall:

Lets see if I can remember how to post a photo here....

Thank you for letting me share....I look forward to joining in all the fun here again!:thumbsup2

Thank you for sharing...
That is a gorgeous quilt!!

Feel free to let Buffy know when you are ready to host and when on the swap calendar...
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!!

hmmm does your mom have a pattern for that quilt?? I may to make me one!!

love the space - why can't I have everything so nice & neat??

Love the quilt! Are those pins in the shadow box frames?

I think you wanted to make paper dolls with us last go 'round, but, you never did sign ups. I know I wasn't on the boards when you swapped before. We love "new" folks here.

What are your favorite things to scrap? Can you help me get to know you and your family?

I have a wonderful DH and 2 daughters; 1 college freshman (far from home) and 1 high school senior. I am sooo far behind on my scrapping that I may never get caught up ;) Right now I'm working on Disneyland Christmas 2011 and Family book 2009. Never mind that I still need to scrap family books for 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 3 WDW trips and 2 DLR trips :rotfl2: and my younger DD and I have enough swap pieces and supplies to open a scrapbook store :thumbsup2

My Mom designed the quilt and also made the paper piecing for the castle and cut it from fabrics. I don't think you can see from this picture but the quilting is in metallic threads and there are fireworks bursting around the caste. It is very much prettier in person!

The space is nice and neat for now--because I haven't used any of it-was all packed up in storage and I had to go through and sort/organize everything.

Thank you--yes, I had wanted to join the last paper dolls swap-in fact, I asked for the swap and didn't get to join because of the timing. I won't miss out this time!!
I was in an Epcot Swap, Pet Swap, Magic Kingdom....maybe a character swap. I can't remember them all. I did quite a few of the 2" letter titles swaps too. I'd love to get in on an Animal Kingdom swap as we have stayed at the AK Lodge....so lots of pictures in that theme.

My name is Jennifer--I've been scrapping for quite awhile. I love to scrap everyday family moments best. I am 2 years behind and have several vacation albums to do. I love all things Disney--yes those are my Disney pin collections in the shadowboxes, I wanted to be able to see them--and we have made many WDW trips and one trip to Disneyland. I am married to DH for 20 years and we have a 16 year old son. I also have two dogs, Jack and Pepe.
We went lived through a whole house remodel that turned everything kinda crazy for awhile. So now that the holidays are over, I'm ready to pursue some creative/artistic hobbies through the winter months.:)

I'll be watching for the paper dolls sign ups....

DH and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary too!

I asked about your pins because my younger DD has 6 lanyards full hanging on her walls and she is trying to figure out another way to display them.

Very cute! Can't wait until I have room to myself in my house. Not happening for at least a couple years yet. :rotfl2:

Your pin display is a great idea. Going to tuck it away in my head so I can do it when I finally have my own space.

a paper piecing?? I think we will get along great - I love paper piecing:love:
do you use any programs?? SCAL or MTC?
I"m trying to limit swaps at this moment - I"m needing 3 sets & wanted them all alike so felt I took too many spots in them - most likely be back in them for the 2015or2016 trip albums
been married for 21.5 year & have 2 sons - 15&17 - so I'll bet we are close to the same age - got any good High school stories??
planning remodeling next year - so any hints would be great - DH wants to do most of it himself :sad2:

I got the shadow boxes at Hobby Lobby in case anyone wants to buy one-very reasonable and are on sale 50% off often. They have a larger size but I feel that gets to be a lot of weight to hang.

I love to do paper piecings--I used to draw them out and cut with a scissor or craft knife....in the days before cricut or wishblade. I also did a lot of the torn bears and I love the paper dolls. I have quite a few files for my wishblade-haven't used it in an age though. Someday when I am caught up, that is another project to master!!

Oh, my high school stories...I was a hell raiser, my poor parents. Now that I have a 16 year old, I'm getting my pay backs. My son is a good boy--maybe it is just the fact I was so awful, I know all the tricks so I am even more paranoid.:scared1:

As for the remodeling--my first suggestion is DON'T!! ;) Move and buy a new house. Nothing works out right and you have to practically tear the house down to make it go back together again. We had an awful contractor(hired by our designer)....he was a pig. I fired him. And I fired the designer we worked with too at the end because she was not getting things done and lying to me about various things. My DH who wanted nothing to do with the project, ended up hiring workers or doing the work himself--he finished the flooring and put up all of the wood trim through the whole house, cut doors--really everything and anything to get it finished. At the end of August-all work had come to a standstill--things were not getting done, I waited and waited and learned that you can't always be nice in these things. We got done with everything the week before Christmas.
It all came together, but I will never, ever live through a remodel and deal with those people in my house day in and day out ever again. Everyone has an opinion, that is for sure. I wish you only the best of luck in your project!!

Hi! Saw your pictures of your new space. It is wonderful. Love your quilt; it is a skill I so want to have & am not really good at! But I keep trying!

I would love to have a scrapbook space, but you talked me right out of any sort of remodel! LOL!

I haven't scrapped in a long time, but am determined to get some pages done for January's page challenge. I am using that to make me commit to me time. I hope to "see" you around.

Missy

welcome back Jennifer!

I love your room and the quilt is beautiful!

LOL about the DS16!! Maybe that's why mine is so good. When he was little we used to tell him between me, dad and Auntie Wendy we've done it all, some of it we've done twice so you won't get away with anything!

Add me to the 20 year club. DH and I will be married 20 years in April.
