Hello Disneylovers!!

DL is not just about children, it's about having fun!! I went last year with my DBF, my BFF and her DBF. We had so much fun!!!! It was very different being there without the kids and we did miss them but it was so worth it to go without them! LOL There are always people there without kids so the blanket assumption that DL is only for kids always surprises me.
OP have FUN!!!!

There is so much to do there at DLR. Some of it isn't even necessarily right for kids. It is the perfect park for for ALL ages, really. You cannot say that about Six Flags, and Universal just doesn't have the same charm and variety as DL. I always get annoyed with adults when they say "I go to Six Flags because DL is for kids." To me, that says something about their personalities, and how they can't really have fun. I would never date or marry a guy who couldn't hang with me at Disneyland, or who just put it down as being a 'kids' place.' You know who has the right idea? The actor John Stamos (who used to be on "Full House" and "General Hospital"). He is a middle aged man now, and he LOVES Disneyland. He takes all of his dates there. He owns the old DL sign. He is a collector of Disneyana too. He is very much a MAN, and a playboy at that, but he loves DL because he had such a great time there as a kid, and he never wants to lose that feeling. He doesn't even HAVE kids! Also, the girls of "Girls Next Door" - in other words, Hugh Hefner's women - love Disneyland and make no secret about it.

We need more celebrities to speak out on how DLR is not just for kids so these snobby 'adults' will loosen up and go there and realize how much fun it can be!

LOL My DH has a Disneyland licence plate holder (the one with all the characters and PRINCESES on them) and his buddies at work make fun of him. He could care less. I think THATS a true man!!

Yep! I think a guy who can realize all the fun to be had at Disneyland is much more well-rounded and open-minded than one who categorizes it as a 'kids's place' and scoffs at it. It is actually a GREAT place for a date with someone you like (you wouldn't want to be trapped there with someone you couldn't stand!). And there is so much to do.

My friend - a big Disney buff - got married ten years ago and basically Disney-fied her husband. He is not as much of a fanatic as she is, but he has gotten into the spirit of it now. He even has some of his own Toy Story collectibles!

I am so lucky. Mh DH of 30 yrs is as much a fan as I am. For ten yrs we made the trip twice a yr to WDW and had Annual passes. I so wish DL had resorts like at WDW that are themed and a vacation unto themselves. We are now going to DL twice a yr. and would not miss it for anything...I love that man..

Sounds like you have a keeper!

Meanwhile, we just had a pretty good-sized earthquake here in L.A., and it seemed to just keep going. My apartment was shaking for a long time. My hands are still shaking because I HATE quakes and they make me nervous, and you never know if one is going to lead to a bigger one.

Yes i do. i was going to book GC for our trip to celebrate but getting the special rate at HO JO kind of snapped me to my senses. i figure i can book us at all the nice restaurants for dinner and Blue Bayou a few times for lunch and still be ahead of the curve. I can hug him there for a lot less $ :dance3: . What I save will come back to me big time.:goodvibes

I am looking forward to many more Disney years with him.....
