Well I had my upper denture done yesterday and I have to admit that the stess of what was going to happen was worse than the procedure. I was very afraid of having to sit there feeling everything but acting brave.
The dentist as promised knocked me out from 10am yesterday morning till 7pm last night, when I woke up in bed. I was surprised that I didn't feel any pain at all. Just a feeling of something alien in my mouth. I'm not even taking any pain meds this morning.
I go back in 6 weeks for the lower procedure and to get my permanate upper. They take another impression after I'm all healed up so it will be a perfect fit.
I have what's called paradonal issues where the bone under my teeth has worn and all the teeth had become loose. So this was a forgone conclusion. I was told when I was in my 30s that I would have to have dentures by age 40 but I made it till 56 so I guess I was ahead of the game. It's funny you can work on making all your body parts stronger than your eyes and teeth.
I don't have a lot of energy this morning so I'll take the day off from exercising but I'll be back at it tomorrow.
I wanted to thank everyone for the pixie dust and kind thoughts. It helped tremendously. I love all of you and feel so blessed to have found this group.
I also want to say something about the team trash talking I was doing, not so much anymore. I tried to just pick on strong personalities that I knew would chew my butt and send me on my way. If I made anyone feel bad that was never my intention.
Again thank you for your support and kindness.
Dave
