Hello all, new member here!

Hello all, new member here. My Wife, Myself and 18yr old Stepson are crazy about Universal, we love it! We currently have Premier Season Passes, we live on the West Coast of Florida South of Tampa, it's a little over a 100 mile drive for us to get to Orlando, we like to get over to Universal at least once a month or so. We moved down here 5 years ago, it was exactly 5 yrs ago on November 15th, we moved down here from New Jersey ( I hated Jersey! so expensive but we were only 15 miles from NYC) My Wife and Stepson are from Jersey, my family moved to Sarasota Florida from Connecticut when I was only 7 yrs. old, I'm 49 now and have spent most of my life in Florida. Anyway, I look forward to actively participating in this forum...

I love living this close to Universal, it's about a 1 1/2 hr. drive for us so it's not bad at all, we're actually thinking about moving to Orlando sooner or later. Being so close to NYC was nice but everything in New Jersey where we lived was so expensive! We lived in a dumpy, small 2 bedroom apt. and were paying over $1,800 a month! We love Heavy Metal/Classic Rock and we ran a music related website when we lived up there, we knew the backstage manager, promotion manager and most of the security guys at BB Kings in NYC. We were going to about 2 - 3 concerts on average a month and never had to pay a dime to see concerts there, plus we were always hanging out backstage and we've become good friends with several musicians in some pretty well known bands.

My Wife was born and raised in Union New Jersey, I lived up there for about 10 yrs. but Florida is pretty much "home" to me, I hated living in NJ! The only thing that I liked about it was being so close to NYC, we went into the city alot, mostly for concerts and such.

We are 2-2 1/2 hours away depending on speed. We also try to visit once a month and call Universal and RPR our second home. We will be there next weekend. Are you going?

Hello and thanks for the welcome! Actually, we've been talking about trying to get to Universal soon but it'll probably be right after Christmas.
