HELLLLLP needed!! MAC notebook laptop

Please understand I am totally clueless about laptops. I bought a MAC laptop for my DH for Christmas online through Apple. What does it need to run since it's wireless? I know our desktop computer is hooked up to our cable service which is Comcast. Does the laptop get its vibes from that or what else will I need to buy for him to use the laptop?

You will need a wireless router to enable the laptop to go on the internet.

You will need to set up a wireless network in your house for the laptop to be able to access the 'net

You can find them at any best buy or such. Start around $59 or so and work their way up. It will come with one ethernet cable which is all you need.

Basically you take your broadband (via cable, dsl etc) and put that into the wireless router. Then hardwire that to your pc and follow the directions to set up your router.

If you have never done this, you can pay someone to do it. It normally is a rip off as the set up is not that hard to do and almost all of them come with a 24/7 support line to help with set up if you get stuck. Depends on your budget if you can swing the cost of having a geek squad come and do the set up in your home.

I just did my in laws and took about 20 mins at most to do. Very simple

Apple has a router/system back-up that I am seriously lusting after. One version comes with 1 TERRABYTE of storage.
