Heinz Ketchup??????

I'm from Pittsburgh too and totally feel your pain! No different than when people take in their own water or flavor packets because they can't stand the taste of water in the parks. I know Chick fil a has Heinz to go packets sitting out with their napkins/silverware etc. I'd grab a couple extra if you're there before you leave. Guess I have something else to add to my packing list too!!

They sell those at my local grocery store, BUT i see them getting smashed during rides and looking like a massacre lol

So I read on another thread that Heinz is gone from CHH....can anyone confirm if it's gone from other locations as well.... We leave in 6 days, I know this may not seem like a big deal to some but we are from Pittsburgh and DH is going to have fit. We eat at a ton of signatures but CHH and Mara are our go to CS meals. We are hooked on the Shrimp at CHH but he wont touch it withough Heinz......uh oh

If you husband is that fanatical about kethup he may love this episode of Pittsburgh Dad. Watch until the end:

Maybe a small, hard sided box (like one of those plastic travel soap boxes that are about $1 in the Target travel section?)...throw the ketchup in there. Will contain them, and won't get smashed. :)

I don't know why I even read this as I hate ketchup, lol. I MAY have grabbed a handful of guldens spicy mustard packets from a local place that has them so I can take them with me on my next trip though. That yellow food coloring they call mustard in the parks is a crime.

Yes, first world problems but forewarned is forearmed! It's a valid question to ask so people can be prepared. I hate ketchup in general but for some people it is key to their enjoyment of their meal. No skin off anyone else's teeth over it!

There's nothing particular (food, drinks, toiletries etc) that I can't live without for the length of a Disney Parks vacation. I find those who MUST have their own particular brand of thing at all times kind of strange. Nothing personal, though.

I don't think I have ever noticed ketchup brands...in a park or what I buy...I go for cheapest! They all taste the same to me

Me too, but I understand that not everyone is the same. At home, we have folks who take their own maple syrup to restaurants when they want pancakes. Condiments can be serious business.

OP- I think that you can buy a little bottle at home, take it to the parks, and just toss it out before you leave to go back home.

Are these fried shrimp? It pains me to think of putting ketchup on shrimp, but I might excuse it a little if they're fried...
:)

maple syrup is a whole different animal from "pancake syrup" which is artificial flavors and corn syrup and other stuff in it. NO comparison. I don't order this stuff out most of the time for that very reason but I won't carry sticky syrup in my purse :)

Lisa- we have folks who are serious about their maple syrup. They are not all alike.....just sayin'. LOL! They bring their own from home.

haha, well I'm talking about a step down. I'm not sure I've ever gone to a restaurant that served the real stuff. They all serve "pancake syrup" which is maple flavored. but not actual maple syrup. So I never order pancakes/waffles out because honestly there is no comparison for me and pancake syrup will ruin it. But I never plan enough to bring real maple syrup and I don't doubt local stuff varies by region, significantly even. I am also a priss about honey, local raw honey is no comparison to store bought stuff. out of season I will settle for regional raw.

Yeah, we have folks here who make their own so there is no way they will tolerate anyone else's. And then the grades, and the color....it goes on and on in my neck of the woods.

BTW if anyone cares... i did a little research because I am avoiding unpleasantness at work and it looks like Red Gold is actually a very good regional brand. The ingredients use real sugar instead of HFCS and corn syrup - which is more like classic Heinz. A lot of Heinz fans use organic heinz because it still uses regular sugar. This is what the internet tells me at least. Maybe this was an aesthetic choice and not a cheaping out choice. The name is much less recognizable but the product seems like it is very good quality!
