Is the height requirement while wearing shoes?? DS2 is right at 48" if he has on his sneakers. I know it's probably a silly question, but I'd like him to be prepared if he's not going to be allowed to ride the 2 or 3 rides with a 48" requirement. Thanks!!

I tried to search for this topic, but search is disabled.

yes, as long as they measure tall enough, they don't even care what KIND of shoes... (meaning, sole thickness)

DD6.5 never took off her shoes for the height lines, so I think your pretty safe with sneaker height. Anyone have any contrary experiences?

It's definitely with shoes on, unless a child has very thick sandals on? My kids have never been asked to remove their shoes while being measured.

You won't have any trouble! The only time I've seen 'trouble' was at Kali River Rapids. The CM was giving this little girl a really hard time about getting on and being tall enough....

Wow- that is a tall 2 year old! Like others have said height is measured with shoes on. Have fun!

Oops! DS2 is 6 years old, not 2 years old. Another board I frequent uses this notation to mean "Dear Son #2". Is that not the case here?

Thanks everyone for responding!

This is not in relation to Disney but I know when we took DD to an amusement park a few weeks ago, she measured around 47 1/2" with flip-flops on. Some of the rides with 48" requirements let her get on, some didn't. It made it very hard to explain to her why she couldn't at some when she could at others. Maybe DS will grow a little too by the time you go.

I've seen them question super high shoes like platform type but not normal sneakers or sandals. They also push down on hair and hats. I think that is tall for a 6 yr old, my poor 8 yr old may or may not make it!

At the Water Parks they measure you barefoot. At the theme parks they don't make you take off your shoes.

It's with shoes on but please prepare your son for being turned away even though you think he'll make the requirement. Disney Cast Members have to do that if there's the slightest possibility of a mistake. We did that with our granddaughter on any attraction at the 44" level. She was 45". We told her that even though we knew and she knew that she was 45", it was up to the Cast Member to make the final decision. We always had an adult that was willing to exit with her if she couldn't ride. She didn't get turned away but, boy, she was so respectful of the measuring routine.
