Height Measurement Question

Can anyone tell me if the measurement markers for Hulk & Dueling Dragons are set at 54", or higher than 54" (to allow for shoes). My son is 53.5" in his bare feet. With shoes, he is about 55". We have 2 more months before our trip so hopefully he'll grow a little more, but in the meantime I just need to know if the measuring marker is set higher than the 54" minimum listed on the height restriction guideline. (Phantom, I think this one is for you!)

It's set for 54 inches. Since he is 55 inches with shoes, he should be OK but I'd be also be prepared for him not to make the height. Work with him on standing up straight with feet together for measurement. Ride it in the morning when you're a fraction of an inch taller.

Definitley make sure that he stands up straight (back straight), tall (head up, shoulders back), and flat (no tip-toes) for measurement..

Thanks for the responses. We are practicing stretching his spine/neck as straight as he can. I just wasn't sure if the bar was set at, say, 56" to allow for the thickness of the soles. If it is set for 54" WITH SHOES, then he will be fine.

How bout mom take the arms...dad take the legs and just pull. in two months you should have nothing to worry about. :rotfl:

For those of you with no sense of humor... :confused3 ***kidding***

If it is that close I would always put pre-packaged rice krispy treats in my DD's shoes, just in case!

We had our son throw an extra pair of socks in his shoes. Worked, and now theres no question at all.

Except then I would have to pick rice crispies out of his socks, so I guess we'll do it the old fashioned way.

I always tell the close ones to think tall thoughts.

Oh and Yatez...you know as well as I do that it's not good for kids under height to ride...shame on you!

I was concerned about this also as DS in June was just 54". Of the 5 days we were there, he had his height checked 3X. Twice on Hulk and once on DD. DD used a "stick" to measure and the Hulk actually has a "plaque" mounted on the wall to stand against to check height. I liked this way because there was no question (with the darn thing stuck to the wall!) Anyhows, he'll be okay..even if they do measure him. (I was surprised UO didn't check more than Dorney Park--DP gave us such a hard time! :furious: )

what notatourist said is a great example of UO. if the child is close, they'll have fun 'stretching' them, etc. to make sure they can ride. the look on the child's face is priceless when they realize they've 'made it'.

if the child is out of bounds to ride, they'll offer childswap or other alternatives.
