I have 48 inches stuck in my head. It was not strictly enforced when we were there during Thanksgiving. The only time we've seen the life guards pull someone out was when adults try to go down the slide.
Confirm 48 inches...grandson was told he could play in the water, however he was not allowed on the slides. They told other people the same also. He is 51 inches and 8 years old.
Last year my dd who just turned 8 couldn't play either. She was very disappointed. Seems like an odd choice to build such a great play area that so many kids can't use.
I'm bummed. I can understand that some older/taller kids can be rough but my 3 year old will love this area but would much rather enjoy it with his older brother and sister (7 and 9) who know to be careful around younger/smaller kids.
I understand as we had two 5 yrs old and two eight yr olds - and only one could not play on the slides. It's a safety issue...but he was allowed in the area, but carefully watched that he didn't go down the slide. If he did he would be asked to leave the area totally.

But other kids don't know to be careful. The excitement sometimes just takes over their good sense. With the possibility of drowning even in a few inches of water, Disney is really being careful these days and restricting usage. There is still a nice slide in the pool for the older kids.

Thanks! I'm glad they'll be able to enjoy the area otherwise. My older two will love splashing around with their little brother and will be excited to watch him go down the slide.
