Can we make a ressie at 11 months for our home resort, and then at 7 months call and see if we can get a ressie at a non-home resort? Or do we have to cancel the first one, first? Can that be done in one phone call to Member Services?

MS can cancel the old reservation and make a new one at the same time. If you need to waitlist, you can set it up to automatically cancel the old reservation and give you the waitlist if it becomes avaliable.

Most definitely...thats how the game is played. If you are definitely going to travel on certain dates book your home resort at 11 months then see what there is for availability at other resorts at the 7 month mark. If your lucky just cancell your home ressie and use the points at the other resort....

Wow, that's awesome! That's better service than we were expecting!

Keep all the good news coming, I've just about got hubby talked into this thing... :mickeyjum

Here's some more good news from MD you can get great SWA rates so you can go more offend.

We are heading down in 5 days for our second trip to SSR.

We did just like you requested for our June trip booked at 11 months then switched to BCV at the 7 month mark MS is so good to deal with.

Yes you can. Ideally if you have enough points available, you hold the 11 mo. reservation in full until you have the 7mo ressie complete. Then cancel the first one. There are various strategies for switching those dates at the 7 mo. mark...and reading the DIS is the best way to learn them!
