Does anyone know where to rent a sit and stand stroller that will hold a lot of weight? I have a friend going to WDW who has a 5 year old and 7 year old. The 7 year old weighs 60 pounds(I'm not sure about the 5 year old) so she needs to stroller to be a little more heavy duty. I think it will be used more for when they're tired then for all day long. I looked at the Orlando Stroller Rentals website, but it only holds a 90 pound combined weight. She's trying to avoid the pricey Disney rentals.

Here is my 2 cents:

* stroller maximums seem to be a standard 55 lbs per kid for a double, unless it's special needs.

* even if you can find a double w/higher maximums, are you sure you want to push that much weight.....it is grueling, especially if it is warm at WDW

some ideas for your friend to consider:

* Go back to the resort and have a pool break if kids are getting tired...everyone will have a chance to rest, including parents, instead of pushing heavy kids in heavier strollers. It is not worth lugging a heavy stroller on buses, in parks, taking up room in the hotel in case kids get tired....if kids are tired, do something relaxing!!

* Suggest the family start a walking regime to build up endurance.

I am not trying to be snarky.

I think it would be pretty hard to push kids that size. I got rid of our double stroller last year when the kids weighted about 75 lbs total, it just go too cumbersome to turn and maneuver. At that age they could probably take turns riding and walking.

My Maclaren has (I think) a 55 lb. weight limit on it. Not sure about the doubles. We just got back and I fully expected my 5 year old to ride in the stroller at times, but she did just fine with the walking. There was only once that she sat in the stroller and that was during the parade. We parked it near the edge of the street and she sat in it so her brother could sit in front of the stroller and they could both see. I think a double stroller would be very difficult to push with children the ages of your friend's. I quit using mine when their combined weight was about 50 lbs. It just got too hard to steer and push uphill. I agree with a PP that they could probably take turns riding.

Thanks for the replies! I'll let her know your suggestions!
