Do they make DDR setups that would last a while for ADULTS? I guess you just need a REALLY rugged dance pad, right?

We got ours from BNS.com- I think it was buy n save? It was a DDR bundle- at least one inch thick pads- the adults in the house weight around 250 and the mats have been used for over three years now- the teen/pre-teen boys and all their friends are on the mats several times per month and they are still going strong- yes- the pads HAVE to be thick or the wires get broken.

I will look into it. I'm about 265. ( and I want to play with my daughters ).

Darn it- now I can't find BNS- I know it was a bundle but we made sure that we bought the thicker pads to protect the wires and keep them from breaking- if you are not aware- the wires are in the pads and the more pounding that the wires take the sooner they will break- we also always wear socks- no bare feet or shoes- HTH

LOL. yeah, I checked, and BNS didn't load up... But upon further review, I found a really heavy duty one... only problem is is that there is no PS3 support so far.

My son age 18 has been into DDR for the last several years. He is really good. When he plays in the arcades, he always draws a crowd to watch him. He went through many soft pads at home and we even tried the Red Octane Ignition pads. He finally went with a metal pad by Cobalt Flux and his father built a wood frame around it with a support bar on the back like they have in the arcades. The ones they have now are for Playstation and Playstation 2. He uses Xbox with his set up. I believe we bought an adapter that worked with multiple systems from another place. Here is the link: https://www.cobaltflux.com/sunshop/index.php?action=item&id=1&prevaction=pricelist. A lot of money but it will last.

BYW, we just got back from WDW and the first thing my son had to do was hit the arcades to try to get first place on as many machines as he could. He had 1st and 2nd at the Beach Club arcade by the time we checked out. He had 1st at the Space Mountain arcade since 5/06 (according to one of his online buddies he was still there shortly before we left for our trip). He went to check and said the scores had been reset. To each their own - He likes DDR as much as I like Disney!
