Do you have a heated mattress pad and do you like it? We've just moved to the mid-west after living 6 years in the desert. I didnt even know that heated mattress pads existed! But it seems like it would be grat to crawl into a warm bed!
TIA
Katy

We had one years ago and really liked it. Then we replaced it with an electric blanket.

I prefer the heated mattress cover though, because with the blanket I was always worried about it bunching up, especially if we forgot to turn it off in the morning (and I am not one for making up the bed daily).

I just bought a new heated mattress cover and will be putting it on today. :)

I like the fact that it will shut itself off if I forget to turn it off in the morning.

Please be cautious. It's been over 20 years, but my friend's daughter had one that shorted out, while they were all gone from the house. She had left it on.
They had a fire and smoke damage that caused them to be out of their home for three months while repairs were done. I see a poster said hers has an automatic shutoff, so hopefully they are much improved now. But, I still wanted to post this information.

I bought my MIL one a few years ago and she loved it! said it helped her arthritis and not being so stiff in the morning. My sister had one and she liked hers also.

Yes I have one and its great. Mine has a boost button on the controller that puts the pad on high for one hour then drops down to a lower setting of your choice. I bought on line from JC Penney.

Thanks! Im going to get one for us and one for my parents! I saw them at sears, i think they do shut off automatically.
Thanks!
Katy

HOLY MOLEY! I have NEVER heard of these. I need one ASAP. My DH keeps our house so darn cold, I am always shivering for the first ten minutes after I get in bed. In his defense, DD is JUST like him so I am the only one with the shivers. Wonder if they have one with dual controllers, because i am not sure he would like it as warm as I would!

LOVE IT!! We first got one from DH's grandma for Christmas a few years ago, but it was a queen and we have since gotten a king size bed. So, I finally splurged and got a king size one and they newer ones have an auto shut off after so many hours. Our house is old and big and costs a fortune to heat, so this really helps. And yes, they have dual controllers.

Edited to add, I bought the last one from Walmart.com, about $20 less than in the store for the same one.

We had one... dual control and the auto shut off were great features! The reason we decided to give it up was that we could feel the blanket. It wasn't terribly uncomfortable but just didn't care for the ridges we could feel.

My sister has one and loves it. But Dh thought he would be too hot. So I opted for a heated blanket that I joke is portable. That's because I use it downstairs when I am watching tv or reading. Love it! I got a twin size one that I put on my side of the bed and I turn it on while brushing my teeth. Bed is nice and warm when I get in. Only paid $30 too which was nice.

I even bought the kids one for Christmas for tv watching.

Best of both worlds for me.

I think you will love either.

I got it! Queen size, dual controls, and it shuts itself off! I'm wrapping it up for DH for Christmas. He was complaining that the dog doesn't do a very good job of warming up his spot in bed. I offered to get him a bigger dog :lmao: but I know he will like this better!

Ahhh heated mattress pads.

Family story here - while my daughter and I were shopping at Sam's about a year ago I that they had queen size heated mattress pads for $50. I asked her if he thought mom would like one. "Yes" she said "and she's not the only one !" My noticing that cost me a $100 that day :sad2:.

But they do like them. The daughter even takes hers on vacation with us. If one broke I am sure it would have to be replaced promptly.

We have a king one with dual controls and auto shut off too. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Can't say enough great things about it!
