Last time I was at WDW, I got heat rash. What do you use to avoid/treat heat rash?

baby or body powder beforehand to prevent it. A shower followed by a good thorough drying, then a dusting of powder. Allow the air to get to it if possible for a bit after the shower. You want to make sure the area is clean and completely dry and that it stays that way.

Drink plenty of water and use a good quality skin cream (to lock in the moisture). Also, use as much 100% cotton clothing as possible (socks, underwear, shorts, shirts, etc.). These 3 things make a huge difference for both my boys who have skin issues in the heat. Good luck!!

:hippie:

Prevention: Keep the skin cool and dry. I use Baby Powder w/ Cornstarch on susceptible areas.

Cure: Treat just as you would contact dermatitis (ie, poison ivy breakout). Do NOT scratch the itchy areas. This causes it to spread even worse.

My DMIL is a nurse, and when I got heat rash from working at a band camp, she had me put on A&D cream (yes... typically for diaper rash). It took care of it in a couple of days. My heat rash was aggrivated by the sun, so I bought spf 70 sunscreen. I was as pale as can be, but I also didn't get heat rash. That, along with drinking lots and lots of water and eating cooling foods (like grapes, watermelon, etc) and staying in the shade as much as possible helped a lot. :thumbsup2
