Just hot high 80'5 kind of stuff starting to rethink my dates free dining or not . I'd love some input for those of you who travel to the World this time of year . I am enjoying reading all the great advice here What a nice group of folks! Thanks for your seasoned advice :)

We went in mid-September and it was hotter than Haides (sp?). However, for free food, we're doing it again! I'm just going to try and get most of my precious character pics out of the way first thing in the morning when I'm actually dry...

We always travel the third week of Sept or last week of Sept and the heat has never been an issue for us. Sure, it's plenty hot, but we like it. This next trip we plan on hitting the water parks during the hottest part of the day and doing the other parks in the morning or late afternoon into evening.

This next trip we plan on hitting the water parks during the hottest part of the day and doing the parks in the morning or late afternoon I guess Im looking for a temp range . If it is the same as NJ in Aug( gets pretty hot and humid as well) then I am fine with that. If in the high 90's during the day my small kids might be overwhelmed . All the charts I see for Oct median temps are of course factoring in end of Oct temps as well.So perhaps Ill just concentrate on the Sept temp charts .

It is HOT and HUMID. Yuck. And Sept is usually in the 90s, not 80s. But for the free food, I might go again ;) We always used to go in September, but I can't take the heat anymore.

Last oct when we where there there was a tropical system of the coast High 80"s and rain .But had a blast.Yes it was humid and hot but i will take it over the summer months or christmas week any time. When its hot and humid it makes that mixed drinks of choice taste twice has good and the resort pool three times has good lol.I would not change a thing. I mean i went down in december for a week then over to Tampa for the Outback bowl came home sunburnt lol you never now about fl weather.

We've gone twice in September (04 and 05) and it is very hot and humid. Usually high 80s, low 90s. We don't mind it, though. It is when it is mixed with high crowds that we become miserable, but heat alone is ok by us. We've got a September trip planned again this year.

Went last Sept. and it was pretty hot and sticky, but luckily, didn't experience much rain(a first for us). It's not going to stop us from free dining :)

:wave2: We went last September 11 for a week. The weather was HOT! It was in the high 90's on a couple of afternoons. We did OK though. We'd get to the parks early and then leave around 1 or 2pm when the "ovens" were turned on high :goodvibes We did notice the low crowds in the parks and the waterparks so my advice to you would be hit the parks early and then go on over to Typhoon Lagoon and enjoy the lazy river. If you want more of the parks go back after the sun sets. Have fun and keep hydrated! :sunny:

We went last week of Sept. 05, didn't seem hot to us. But we were on rides, etc so quickly, maybe getting to cool off so often made it not feel that hot.

We went in September 2001. It was my DS's first trip to WDW and it ws HUMID!!!! I remember chasing him around Tom Sawyer Island in the 90+ degree heat with the humidity being about 300% and SWEATING from head to toe! BUT IT WAS WORTH EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!! :cool1:

I'm a overweight, pasty-white redhead from Britain (Form a line boys, no pushing :rotfl2: )ansd my last 2 trips have been in October. It is very hot and humid-so much so that it has driven me back to the hotel in the afternoon to shower, change and rest. BUT it wouldn't deter me from going again at this time of year, its a great time to visit.June thru' August is the one I wouldn't fancy.

We were at wdw last year 10/5-10/8 and yes it was hot. We still had a good time but it was very hot and crowded for columbus day weekend. Still had fun, dress cool!

We typically go in Sept or Oct, and it always seems to be really hot and humid. My wife doesn't seem to mind, but it starts to get to me. This year we are probably going in Dec, so it should be more tolerable.

Last Oct (4 - 14) was our first trip to WDW. It was great!!! However, I am from GA and I couldn't believe how hot and humid it was. It is amazing what a few hundred miles can do for the weather. :) There was some sort of Tropical Depression/Storm out in the Atlantic early in our trip and those first few days were sweltering. But we had so much fun ...We are doing it again!!! Hey who can pass up free dining for a little sweat?

BTW...it's a surprise this time for the kiddos...they are going to flip! :teeth:

In other words, yes, you will be miserable there at that time. We live down south (SC) and it's too hot here all thru September also. I'll never visit Orlando May thru mid-October ... free dining or no free dining.

We were at Disney the 3 week of October this past year and it was hot and humid (90's) every day. The heat does bother my DH and he would return to the resort every day around 1:00. I enjoy the heat but have to say it does slow you down.

Beats our last 2 trips 10 days the 3 week of December 04. Never took off my winter coat. 7 days February 05 weather was nice but there was always that cold north wind. Needed layers. We spend a week at Cocoa Beach after each trip and both times it was so windy and cold you couldn't go to the beach. Both trips there were a few times during the afternoon when the sun was warm, but mornings and evenings were cold. Always had to rent a locker with extra clothing.

Given the choice I'd pick October. I like the heat and enjoy just going to the park and not having to take a suitcase of extra clothing.

We also were there towards the end of September last year, and I don't recall any days not getting into the 90's. That said, the low crowds did make it more manageable in that you were never shoulder to shoulder with other folks, which always makes it seem hotter to me. Also with the free dining, it felt like we were out of the heat quite a lot do to being in restaurants constantly! At least you can sweat away some of the calories.

I am going in late Sept, early Oct. Now I know to pack t shirts and shorts. I live in Texas so the weather is similar.
