Wondering if someone can be willing to type a couple of healthy/protein filled snacks that are covered by the dining plan? I'm pregnant and have to stay away from a lot of carbs and sugars and I noticed many snacks and drinks are sugary and carb filled. Yikes! Need like a meat or salad as a snack.

I can't think of any off hand, but there is a sticky at the top of this forum about Confirmed Snack Items. It's long, but you might find something you know you would like there.

I'm pretty sure there are things like soup and chilis for a snack credit. There are healthy food carts in each park and healthy options at the resort food courts. I know I've seen veggies and dip and veggies and hummus. I know it's a bit sugary but Greek yogurt is available too. Have you looked at the menus to see what snack options might work for you?

I looked over the list, and it is mostly sweets and carbs.

I'd consider bringing along some protein bars, nuts, or even some whey protein powder to mix into water or milk. I used to always bring along nuts or something for me or the kids.

There are a FEW things like egg rolls, side of fried rice (at DAK Yak & Yeti local foods), and chili.

I think some food courts also sell little individual tubs of peanut butter, so you could grab a few and bring them along to spread on something.

The DDplan just changed today, and it appears that you can get any single serving snack now as a snack....That said, I know there are nut carts, and imagine they could do you nuts without coating them with sugar, there are "fruit markets" in each park, and they have some items that might fit the bill...I know there are edamame in AK and EPCoT, Epcot Japan will be your friend: California roll and edamame, and possibly Morocco QS for tabouli or lentils or hummus . QS sides like side salad and soup that have a DDP symbol are accepted as snacks now, so Columbia Harbor House in MK should have a lot and Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, oh, and I just remembered!...Greek yogurt all over the place! :o Lots of food courts and many QS have yogurt as a dessert option for kids (but that may be a more sugary kind.) There are also Hummus cups with pretzels around, but you have to do a search to find all locations: I wouldn't be surprised if the Starbucks locations have them. There is usually at least one place in a park that has lowfat yogurt smoothies too.

You will find stuff! Stay hydrated! Have fun! Skip ToT and Star Tours(CM gave me bad advice and told me ST would be fine!:scared:)
All the best!

If you look through your resorts grab and go area you will find plenty of yummy healthy items...veggies and dip, fruit cups, hummus and veggies, pretzels and hummus, yogurt, trail mixes, nuts, side salads, whole fruits, side dishes like rices, mixed veg etc. at the parks, most quick places will have a side salad or soup for snack credits. Also, they have fruit bars, soft pretzels and popcorn. I found it very easy to choose healthy items with snacks credits. Good luck and have a great time!
