Health Travel Insurance?

What health travel insurance does everybody get?
I was probably going to use BCAA.

I have an annual policy on my BMO Mastercard.
Since we usually travel more then once it works out great for us. $99 for the complete...Medical...and all your Trip insurance, Cancellation, Lost luggage, Trip interuption.....before we found out about this option we were paying about $300 a year for our family!!!

We have AMA here for when we travel. it's added on to our monthly insurance fees. i think it was soemthing like 15 more per month for our whole family.

Thanks. I am now deciding between get insurance for each trip or for the whole year. Each trip is 20.00 (total 40+taxes) or 67 for the whole year. That's BCAA.

:goodvibes it's pretty reasonable for the whole year and it frees you up to go on little road trips here and there without having to set it up each time! just a thought :goodvibes

We signed up years ago with TD Insurance its valid year round for trips under 21 days and we do not have to worry about insurance if we go over to the US for the weekend.

I have travel health insurance coverage through my benefits at work.

I buy yearly coverage from CAA. It covers us for thw whole year, it was less than $140.

Thats why we buy it as well. I have health coverage through my work but it doesn't include the trip cancellation, inturption , lost baggage..etc!!!! thats why we like this plan on my BMO mastercard

Here's a dumb question. How do I know if I have travel insurance from work or on a credit card? I guess I have to ask but I never think to look in those places. I will probably get the BCAA year coverage. I live very close to Seattle and could go alot thru the year (Vancouver BC).

roberthodgson: How much is the TD coverage?

For work call your human resources department/person they should know. For your credit card I would call their 1-800 number and they should be able to give you the information card. It would also be included in your initial credit agreement.

I get family annual coverage with BCAA. Trip interruption/cancellation, etc.
I work in a school, and get a discount corporate rate. It pays to ask them about corporate rates that they may have and you don't know about. I didn't know about this rate until I asked. They don't volunteer the info. I also get 30 day coverage, as we often go in the summer for over 20 days.
I have coverage thru my credit card, but I think it's only 7 or 14 days. Not sure. But I'd rather be safe then sorry.

Just some more info about credit cards... if you're looking for a card with all the benefits as well for your family (out of country medical, cancellation, interruption, baggage etc.) go look at the RBC Gold Preferred card. It's $110 per year and has all of it. RBC is the only company that has unlimited medical coverage (the out of country medical coverage is the most comprehensive you'll get) and has SUPER fantastic customer service. I've been so impressed with the credit card and their service I actually moved everything over to them including bank account, car insurance etc.
