Heads Up - This forum color will be changing tomorrow

I just want to let you all know that the color scheme for this board will be changing at 12am EST. It's being sponsored so it will overwrite your custom styles - sorry. It won't be a drastic color change, but I don't want you to be in shock when your styles don't work here tomorrow.

such sad to see so many changes. it used to have minimal advertising now I have two boxes to get over before I even scroll down and now we don't get custom colors ? they couldn't just have another ad ? I hope it's a Disney place and now the borders and boxes will have Disney images through out them ..... yeah right !! Next thing will be we can't customize our sigs since each of us will be have to pick it from a sponsoring site.

I agree about the Serenity Green color being calming I also like having the choice to pick my own color scheme but I guess like so many other things, it comes down to money and having someone sponsor this site

Advertising is the way of the world and internet. There are several forums that implant large Google ads within the first post, after it, and even within the signature block. We don't do that. I also think it would be hard to find a discussion forum out there that does not allow advertising.

The ads that are displayed after the second post are only visible to non-members. We provide a unique sponsorship opportunity where businesses can have one of our forums branded around their look. There might be a day where every single forum here has a sponsor.

Is this also going to affect the DIScreet style? I enjoy viewing the forums from my BlackBerry but that is the only style that can actually allow me to view them without taking 20 minutes to load.

And if so, maybe it's time to release a mobile version of the forum for other Smartphones and not just the iPhone?

It apparently affects all previous skins, even the sponsored ones lilke Swan/Dolphin. If DIS'ers don't now have a choice of skins (and it looks like we don't), then I wish the supposed 'options' would be deleted from the bottom of the page.

hey, isn't too bad. The sponsor is Disney Digital books ? I'm pretty good at guessing even if it's not all images from Disney, still pretty cool that the board is big enough to be sponsored by something Disney. As long as they don't censor anything, this board is golden.

It's just THIS board that now has the over-ride Disney Digital Books red/blue skin on it. The Community Board (not the entire DIS website) now has a sponsor. Got it.

It isn't only this forum. If we don't have the option to customize the skin to what *we* want, get rid of the options on the main page.

You're batting 1000 then...there are three forums that now have the digital books over-ride skin - Disney World Trip Reports, Budget and Community Board. There is a new small book ad in every forum but all unsponsored forums still have viewer's choice color-schemes.

If you go to the main index and look at each forum's information, the sponsored ones will have "Sponsored by" in bold lettering with a click-through to the sponsor's website.
