Heads up on Uber/Lyft pricing

I don't know whether this has reached Orlando yet, but today Lyft raised their rider fares in the Miami market to the point where they are noticeably higher than Uber. (drivers get none of that) Numerous drivers are reporting people switching to Uber because it was less expensive.

I always recommend that any rideshare user keep both apps on your phone and check pricing before you order -- and this is why. The companies' pricing is rarely the same -- one time one is higher, another time it's reversed. So be a savvy consumer and check.

Also...if anyone has any problems getting Lyft rides from MCO, please let us know.

Lyft has made a change in their airport procedures which could cause driver cancellations and force you to submit a new ride request. Let me know if you run into that. Thanks.

Inn staying at POR at the moment and have checked prices of both for some rides. I can confirm what I am seeing is Lyft typically a few dollars more than Uber for the same ride.

Interesting. I wonder if the Disney contract will be affected if the change is notable and persists.

I'm sure Disney doesn't care about it's marketing partners' pricing.
Joel's right. MV fares are set by Disney and rideshare fares are set by the companies. Disney has no input, nor any authority, on rideshare fares.

Maybe because i live in a small county but i have never noticed a price difference in pricing when comparing the two

For me lyft is actually cheaper but i also have 10% of rides right now

But i tuink lyft and uber both went up in price because what used to be a 12 dollar ride is now a 15 dollar ride

Now that they don't have to even pretend to share any part of an increase with drivers, I predict fares will continue to rise until there's a drop in demand.

Exactly right. Also, their pricing in the Orlando market is WAY low compared to other markets, so some adjustment of that should be expected anyway. But the reality is that neither company is even close to making a profit, so they have no choice but to raise prices.
