heads up on the rental market -edited

If there's no demand, why did DVC Rental Store recently send out an email with an increased payout offer for Saratoga Springs and Old Key West reservations in the 7-11 month booking window.

Must be as @drusba said, they are just showing a sample of the demand they have.

I own at BRW. I bought in 2007. (Best decision!)
I have rented my points 2x. Most recently last month. This was with Davids rental. I rented about 400 points in 3 separate reservations. One was a confirmed reservation.
I rented those points in weeks.
I dont know if i was just lucky with BRV during holiday season at 11months.

What are they paying for those bookings? I have found their site terribly difficult to navigate to get good information as an owner.

I see a lot of confirmed reservations on the sponsors rental website? I directed someone there yesterday and they found a BCV that matched their dates perfectly.

Maybe it's less than normal? I don't really look at the confirmed listings anymore.

I believe the sponsor and other rental sites are pushing owners out of the rental market as much as possible. I don't rent out my points often, but when I do, most renters are looking for reservations within the next seven months. I understand that securing reservations within that time frame can be challenging, yet when you visit their website, you can see numerous "confirmed reservations" available for rent.

It appears that rental brokers are utilizing bots or significant quantities of membership numbers to book these reservations and then sell them at a premium. This practice seems to go against the intended purpose of the DVC system. However, as long as it's allowed, I suppose it makes sense for some to turn it into a business opportunity.

Ive rented out my SSR lots of times since Covid. Never had a problem finding renters
I agree over time, you will find dates available for renters. However, you can see that many dates are not available, but the brokers have confirmed reservations for those dates. Unless those reservations are not really confirmed but just dates the system knows are available to book. I don't know if that is the case.

DH just got an email from them today saying they are lowering their rental prices on ALL DVC properties, so who knows?
