I have been reading a lot of posts about double/duplicate ADRs being cancelled. I have made many changes to my ADRs and have cancelled any duplicates as I have changed them.

I was a little nervous about it so I decided to check my ADRs this weekend. And what I found was that there were four ADRs that I had asked to cancel but they were still there. So I immediately cancelled them.

However, I just thought I'd let you know how important it is to check your ADRs. Some CMs are very happy to oblige.

There may be duplicates out there and you don't even know it because you were sure (like I was) that you cancelled it. I wished in this case that they provide cancellation numbers (I know that may be a little too much). But for those like myself who record everything down, so when I see duplicates I can explain that I have cancelled them (and they would actually believe) and improve on customer service. I would think that Disney would like to ensure everyone that when you cancel it, it's cancelled. I can see how upset some people are about those who make duplicates (on purpose), so it would be great duplicates are not made by mistakes.

I will admit, I changed them far too many times, but I make sure that I cancel the old one once I receive the confirmation number for the new one.

In the pase, I would call and assume that my ADR is good, now I am nervouse if I don't call months in advance to check it over. I have heard too many horror stories. On our last vacation, I had tried to find a better time for my ADR for H&V fantasmic package (and as you all know they keep your credit card on file to charge 10/person for no shows or late cancellations (less than 48 hours), so when I told them that I had an early time, I was told I had two for that day. I only made one ADR and quickly cancelled it. They couldn't tell me how it was done, only that maybe the person who did my first ADR had accidentally added another ADR. I was confused and couldn't understand how this was done since they have to do a credit card guarantee on each one, they would have to have asked for my cc number twice. So then I became even more nervous:eek: , the CM reassured me that they do not write cc numbers down for later use.

So just a heads up, I know everyone knows to do this, but it really is important that you check it. :thumbsup2

We have this happen all the time. We also ALWAYS insist on getting a cancelled confirmation number on anything being held on a cc.
