Heads Up Late June Grad Nights in 2010

In answering another post I just noticed that Grad Nights in 2010 are scheduled later into June than I have ever seen. From memory it seems that Grad Nights generally wrap up in mid-June.

According to MousePlanet's DLR park updates for May/June 2009

the 2009 Grad Nights were:

May 14, 21, 28
June 4, 10, 11, 18

However, for 2010 the schedule is:

May 20th, and 27th
June 3rd, 10th, 16th, 17th, and 24th

I have never seen a Grad Night as late as June 24 and without knowing any better I personally would have booked a trip for that week if I was interested in June.

Between the June 24 Grad Night and the delayed SoCal AP blockout in 2010 I personally would avoid a late June trip in 2010.

Thanks so much for this information! Was hoping for a late June visit at the end of a Cali trip next summer. Perhaps we'll do DLR at the beginning of the trip instead hmmm.....

I have always gone that week in June and had a wonderful time. I will say that I have never noticed a crowd difference with the So Cal AP's group not being blocked out yet. ( I avoid the So Cal Select Group like the H1N1 flu!) However with this new information, I will avoid that week( June 21-25) because I don't want to deal with Grad Nite at all. It's getting harder and harder to find a quiet pocket these days. The school's must have changed their calendars or something, because aren't most schools OUT by then??

Yah I already knew about the grad dates. I think our first day will be the grad night the first day after the cheapest passes are blocked. Even if the park closes early it'll be ok because we will have been driving all night the night before and have done magic morning (it's a Thursday) Working with my husbands family, I've done the best I can to wrangle inbetween the blockout dates for both of the cheaper passes. It was all I could do to keep them from going the week before the week before the cheapest passes were blocked before the summer. We're only going to be able to do a 3 day pass anyway, if the volunteering thing works out then probably 4 as I'm sure there will be no 5 for 3 like we usually do in off season.
