Headless Horseman at MNSSHP

He rode in both parades the last few years as far as I can remember. Last year we definitely saw him in both.

Can I just say the headless horseman is super scary. Not in a halloween kind of way but in a- 'this animal might go crazy or get spooked or lose control and go carreening into a group of bystanders' kind of way. The horse is BIG and runs VERY VERY fast. And I don't think think the guy on the horse can see very well either. It is totally awesome.

I have 2 questions -

1. Which direction does the parade go? Does it start in Frontierland or at City Hall?

2. Does the HH run the entire length of the parade route? I don't want to be waiting in the wrong spot if he doesn't run the entire way.

Last year was the first time they switched the direction and it started in Frontierland due to construction at the train station near City Hall. That is part of the reason the Headless Horseman was slower then usual. He had to get used to a different route (backwards).

I believe he rode from Frontierland again this year.

He runs the whole route about 5 minutes befor the parade begins.

Absolutely-

People where taking tons of flash pics even though the cm's were telling people not too as the horse could get spooked- everyones eyes are on the horseman and at the speed that he runs I dont think that he would be able to stop if a little one decided to "wander" into Main St. (or an adult that decides to cross Main St.)

Last Friday, during the first parade he ran from frontierland.

Last year we were on Main street and the cm's kept yelling at everyone to keep there feet in. This year we were in frontierland and they did not seem as uptight. I am thinking that is because we were behind a rope but there is no rope on main street.

Ohhhhh! I am soooooo excited to see this! It sounds scary, awesome and very cool. I haven't told my kids or DH yet, I want them to be freaked out by it. It always scared me in the Disney Sleepy Hollow cartoon they'd show at Halloween time in grade school (the new school master, what is his name? Icabob...Icabob Crane. Catchy song!) so I cannot imagine seeing it in real life!!!!
