We will be heading home to BCV in November. Anyone who has been there have any suggestions on what we should try and do there, what we should avoid? How are the rests, etc? Thanks for any info.

Cape May is a wonderful location for dinner. It is mostly seafood but always has meats and salads also. It also has an excellent childrens selection and a dessert bar.And Beaches and Cream is a must!! I do wish however with the addition of BVC(we stayed there this summer, it was wonderful!) that they would put in a snack area like at the GF,Poly, and Contemporary. A good breakfast place is definitely missing! Cape May has a character breakfast but I did not think it was as good as other character B.s!You can go over to the YC for a full sit down breakfast. And beaches and cream has a cold selection -muffins,cereal,fruit etc..One nice item is the refillable mug if you are a coffee drinker!Have a great time! We have plans to go back in february 2003! Joan:smooth:

Joan, I've got a question for you. We're going for the first time in April, never been to an Epcot resort before (BCV owner now). About the mugs, I hear the walk to get your drinks is long, is this true? My son loves to go and get me my coffee in the morning, would it take forever for him to get back? Or should I just make it in our room? thanks.

I too am wondering where to buy the refillable mugs at BCV. Would like to get them when we get there, but probably won't use until later, so purchase location closest to check-in would be good for us.

You'll have a coffee maker right in your room. My advice is to bring along your favorite coffee (and filters) and just make it in your room. Your son can still pour it for you! Enjoy the Villas. I think you will just fall in love with the room(s) as well as the location.

The mugs are purchased at Beaches and Cream. They are refillable there and at the pool bar. Jillpie, the BCV's are a distance from Beaches and Cream. Try the walk before you buy the mug. I would take my 8 year old with me each am to get my coffee because right next door is the arcade! While I sat outside and had my coffee he got to play a few games. He never minded getting up each am! I was on the 5th floor with a view of Illuminations. I felt having to take a walk for coffee was good for me because I would get up early and be ready before the rest of my family and then wake them up as my younger son and I left the room! Also in the afternoon while sitting near the pool my daughter and I would get ice tea in the mug to share! So for $10.00 I really feel I got my moneys worth! And now that I am home each AM I have my coffe in the mug! Any more ??'s just ask!! We all loved the BCV's! Joan:smooth:

Hi Joan S.

I know this is probably not thread to ask this but what room size (1 or 2 br) and what room number did you have and how big was your balcony? We are new owners with a family of 5 planning our vaca for next June. We want 5th floor 2 br w/ illum. view. How was your view. Thanks in advance!!

Queenof4hearts, WE were in room 557 a 1 bedroom. But we did have a door to the studio next door(I think!) so I guess it may have been a lock-off 2 bedroom? We faced Canada and had a good view of Spaceship Earth. We watched Illuminnations a few nites from our balconies(we had 2 but they were both small). We did also face the back road(car and bus noise?) this did not bother me at all. With doors closed I really did not hear anything(except some early am's I could hear the beep-beep of a truck backing up) maybe a delivery, but only for a short period of time.I had noted on my reservation that I would like an Epcot view and be able to see Illuminations. I also asked about the view at check-in. Hope this helps! Joan P.S. 5th floor is also nonsmoking which we need because my son has asthma.:smooth:

I am a big walker and never, ever complain about such things, but I must admit.....I complained at BCV because of the walk to get drinks with the refillable mugs. At other DVC resorts, we more than got our $'s worth with the mugs, but here I'll say Disney probably did, because the walk was way too long. If I were to stay at BCV again, I'd bring some coffee, teabags and buy a 12 pack of soda instead!

As far as coffee goes, there is a self service coffee area in the lounge right near the BC front desk (YC has one as well). This coffee is very good (according to my wife) and free to all guests. It is a shorter walk from the Villas, and the cups are right there. No mug needed.

(I only saw this in the AM - not available all day)

I know this sounds picky, but ...
How large are the mugs? I'm not a coffee drinker, I like my caffine cold with plenty of ice! I like the 20 oz (?) mugs better than the smaller coffee sizes. Do they have both, like at VWL? I drink out of my VWL mug everyday! It makes a great souvenir.
Thanks for the info.

Hello,

I just returned home from my first trip to bcv over labor day week.

The mugs are the large size only, I did not see the car mugs.

I am a serious coffee drinker and I highly recommend bringing your own and brewing it in the room. I had a strdio overlooking dunes cove, with a 12 cup coffee maker. I had to go to the general store at bwv to get the half and half, someone in atlantic wear does not know how to order groceries to properly stock the store yet!! They were out of half and half all week.

I had requested epcot view, but with hindsight being 20/20 I think I got a much better experience where I was. View was georgous. I was close to laundry , eleavators. and exit to beach club. Which put you nearer to the store, bus stops ect. I was usually in epcot during Illuminations each evening it only being a 5 minute walk home.

We bought one mug and I think got our moneys worth, but if all four of us got the mugs we would not have.

There was nothing sweeter then staying in those new beautiful villas, no matter where you stay you will enjoy,

Happy planning Felicia
