Hi,

We are heading down the day before our scheduled check in to the Polynesian.

I can't justify the cost to check into a Disney resort if we are just spending the one night. Ubering from airport and then from whatever hotel we stay at to the Polynesian the next morning seems to be very reasonable.

Any recommendations for reasonably priced hotels between the airport and Disney?

We usually do this. We've Pricelined airport hotels if we have a late flight and gotten some really reasonable rates. We usually bid 3 stars there since all we're looking for is a bed. More recently, we've stayed in the DS area hotels. They cost a little more but we usually get in a dinner at DS that evening after a short walk from the hotel. The hotels there are all good.

I've read good things on this board (and TripAdvisor) about The Holiday Inn in DS, but haven't experienced it myself. This is also a win if you have any IHG points and can use them during a stay at this hotel. Enjoy your trip!

That's one of our 'go to' resorts pre DVC stay. It's a really nice hotel - always clean and staff friendly.

You don't say when your trip is, but I would suggest pricing out how much it would be to stay at a value resort that night. You would eliminate the need to pay for rideshare from the airport and to the Poly, and you would already be on-site the next morning and could use Disney transportation to go to the park. Disney would also facilitate luggage transfer for you, so you'd just have to go to the Poly at the end of your park day.

I just picked a random night in October and am seeing value resorts for $150. I'd think it would be hard to find an off-site resort that's of reasonable quality that is much less than that, especially considering the cost of two Ubers.
