My son is due any day now and it has me and my wife talking Disney. We have decided it's better for us financially to take him on his first trip in late 2016. He will be 2 yrs and 10 months old then. Ugh it seems so far away.

Congrats on your soon-to-arrive son! Enjoy these last few days of anticipation :) There is nothing quite like expecting your first child.
We're planning our next trip for December 2016!

Congrats on the baby! We are planning our first family trip for May 2016!! DD will be 4 1/2!!:cool1:

I started planning our June 2015 trip while I was pregnant with our twins (they will be 2 years 9 months). It got me through a very rough pregnancy. I planned our 2009 trip for my first son's 3rd birthday while pregnant as well. I love that they are "free."
Congratulations!

First of all - let me follow along and congratulate you on the baby boy you are about to welcome! That's fantastic!!! :)

Secondly ... My DH and I went on our honeymoon in 2008 to WDW and the minutes I was pregnant with DD in 2009 I started planning when to take her! haha
We ended up getting pregnant with DS when my DD was just 7 months and so we delayed Disney a bit. We ended up going in August 2013. DD was newly 3 at the time and my DS was just shy of his second birthday - which fell in september. We went then because he was still free. Realistically it saved us a ton to have him have no airline ticket or park tickets or dining plan and it worked well.
I had a few oh sh*t moments before we went thinking they were too young and DS would be bored and panicking.... Boy! Was I wrong! He had a BLAST! He loved the rides - especially continuous ones like Nemo, Ariel, etc - and just looking at everything and he even liked high-fiving characters. (He wasn't quite ready to hug a 7 foot tall Goofy :) )
We are now planning our next trip for a year from September when they will be 5 and almost 4. :yay::yay:

Best of luck to you with the baby and happy planning!

Congrats!! I think we are going to skip next year and do something else - just for a change. But I'm already missing the idea of planning a Disney trip until 2016.
I would love to go next October, but my oldest will be starting junior high and I really dislike the idea of pulling him out of school his first year.

Congrats!!! How exciting! We are actually expecting in March 2015, DS is 10 and really wants to go for the Halloween party. I'd rather wait until the baby is over a year so I guess we are making plans for 2016 also! :thumbsup2
