I have an awful headache and no tylenol or any painkillers in the apartment.
Drugstore is too far to walk to.
Anyone have any homeopathic remedies I might try?

I usually get in a VERY warm bath of water and put my head under the water up to my ears.......ofcourse, I don't know how difficult that may be for you with the boys.

First off.....I hope you feel better.

Now, I know this is weird....but I have a friend of mine who spent 30 years in the Bolivian jungles - he was a missionary - when the natives had a headache, they would stand on their head! They didn't have access to drug stores.

Weird, I know - I always reach for the excedrine - so I don't know if it works, but I hope you're better soon!

I'm actually running a tub as I type this and Brian is sleeping and Mike can watch PJ while I soak.

Ya know, as bad as this headache is, I might try it. I NEVER get headaches! This is awful

I think peppermint is supposed to help a headache. Usually Advil for me, but I think I have heard peppermint, so dig in your purse and see if you have any!

If you have a clothespin (one of those wooden things with the spring in the middle), I've heard that clipping it on your earlobe will cure a headache. (I'm sure, by making you feel so much pain on your earlobe that you forget about your headache)

Disclaimer: I've never tried this myself

I use caffeine when I don't have meds. Last night, I got a nasty sinus headache while at work. Got a Barney's coffee with a double shot of espresso-it brought it down to a dull roar until I got home and could take some tylenol sinus.

Your typical garden variety tea (orange/black pekoe) has more caffeine than coffee...if you don't already consume a lot of caffeine, it might help.

Go in your room, shut off all the lights and put a warm/hot towel over your eyes & forehead. I also agree with the caffiene. Crack your back & your neck. Last resort, booze it up.

Is there any type of corner store that might sell small samples of pain killers or bottles of tylenol?

I noticed that your baby is a little over 3 months old. I bet it is a hormonal headache. I hope you feel better!

When pain killers don't work for me, I resort to:

toast w/ butter & cheese with a glass of sprite.

Sounds weird, but works every time. :confused3

I also agree with the caffeine, dark quite room w/ cold compress, and cracking neck & back.

yep def. try caffeinne . also , try an ice pack or small bag of ice - really thats what they used on me when i was in the hospital. i switch from my face to my forehead with the ice pack. it works for me. hope you feel better.

Caffiene and sugar. Have a cola or cup of coffee with something sugary.

Chocolate or something else that's caffeine.

ETA: I just saw other people said the same thing.

Yup. Caffeine, caffeine and caffeine. Feel better. Headaches are awful.

have someone scare you, or is that for hiccups

I don't know how well I can explain this, but there are 2 points in the back of your neck and if you apply pressure to them (on either side of the spinal column, maybe about 3 inches apart, kinda right at the base of the head) that can relieve a headache. I know it sounds weird, but my high school math teacher took a course in acupressure when her husband was dying of cancer and she learned this technique. I never really believed it until one day I had a very bad headache that was not going away. She had me sit on a chair in front of her and lean back while she pushed her thumbs into this pressure proints in the back of my neck and I swear the headache was gone. It works best if you can get someone else to do it, so ask you husband to try, but if he can't then you can still try yourself. I'll still do that when I have a headache now before I resort to pills.

Lots of good advise here, another home remedy is ~

Rest in a quite dark room, w/ice pack on your head, heat pad on your neck, massaging peppermint oil into your temples. I know all too well know how wicked they can be. :guilty:

I agree with the pressure points too. A chiropractor or massage therapist could have you feeling better in a jiffy. Hope you feel better soon.
