DS23 and I are going on our first trip in 8 years and boy has everything changed. I always bought hopper passes in the past, but this time only single park tickets as the prices are insane! Then I went to make ADR’s as we love to have a sit down daily and my eyes about came out of my head! Our favorite Le Cellier has their signature steak fir $59 each at lunch? Wth! Wow come on! Even every place else is super expensive. When we were there the last few times we ate at a sit down every day for dinner with no free dining and the prices easily are double from 2012. I guess we’ll only be eating at quick service places. I’m sad. I don’t mind spending money on vacation, even splurging, but this is crazy! Even more expensive than Our London trip from last year! ☹️

I have to say I just did a comparison last weekend and the upcoming trip I have planned is really close to the cost of going to London. I realize that my family likes staying at deluxe resorts and that is a choice we make, but.....maybe I should not have looked at the cost comparison---WOW.

Yes, prices have gotten ridiculous. We used to go to Disney every other year and felt like we were getting a lot for our money. The last few years it just seems like prices are through the roof and we have started going other places. It is amazing the places you can go for the same price of a Disney vacation!

Crazy! Were staying in value to save $$, but I thought we could at least do our nightly TS. I have looked at every menu and seriously cannot justify $30 pasta dishes and $60 steaks. I could stay home and choose from any number of steakhouses here in Chicago for top steaks. I’ve already bought the tickets and plane fare so too late to change and we’re dying to see Star Wars, so quick service will have to be the go to.

There are some great counter service locations all over Disney. Check out the menus! You might find yourself loving not being tied to an ADR each day. Enjoy! :)

It would take a bit more work, but you could always uber off property for a nice sit down meal. We usually drive off property for one meal, both to enjoy a reasonably priced dinner, and to escape the bubble for a couple of hours.

In your case, the DDP or DDP+ may be worth the cost. IF the average TAble service meal is $50 and you would eat a counter service for lunch at around $20 then the cost of the Dining plan may save you money.

It is also fun to share meals except at buffets of course. And, like previous poster the counter service locations are sometimes just as good as the table service counter part.

We do a lot of meal sharing (I find the portions are huge, just like the prices). Agree the prices are crazy, and the product quality doesn’t come anywhere near to justifying The price. We came back from Orlando yesterday and I had a Curry chicken salad sandwich at one of the airports - as I was eating it I was thinking it was better than anything I’d eaten at Disney world in the last week.
