HEA FP/Dessert Party?

Thinking of booking the Happily Ever After dessert party with Plaza Garden viewing. Do you share this viewing area with guests with HEA FPs? Are do they even have HEA FPs? I read something saying Disney got rid of fireworks/parade FPs. No matter the answer, is the Plaza Garden where Wishes FPs used to be (the grassy area enclosed with wrought iron in front of the castle)?

I posted this back in May, may be helpful for you: Review: Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing

:thumbsup2

Thank you for the review. We have done the Wishes Dessert Party before, but it was at the Tomorrowland Terrace location. It was to celebrate my 40th birthday. I was kind of like you--while the desserts were nice, a nice uncrowded viewing area of the fireworks was my main reason for booking. Well, the fireworks were cancelled due to a terrible lightning storm. I was pretty bummed. Hopefully, we won't have this problem again!

I am thinking about doing the plaza viewing dessert party when we go in November but not 100% sure yet. Is it like other ADRs that you cancel or once you've made it it's done, non-refundable?
Thanks!

The cancellation policy is five days prior. It is listed when you book it so check to be sure I'm right, but I'm pretty sure. We did the party last month and enjoyed it.

We have an ADR for end of August - you have to pay upfront (and it is $$$) and must cancel within 5 days. My kids are super excited for the desserts LOL
DH is very happy to not have to stake out a place for the fireworks. I will report back in a month! Fingers crossed for no rain out that night...

Yep, you are right. It's 5 days.

So regarding the 5 day cancel. Say I have it booked for a Monday night, would 5 days be Wednesday by midnight?

If it cancels due to weather, is there a refund?

Technically no, although it is somewhat rare to have an all out total wash out that MK fireworks are cancelled all together. They'll try to make every effort to run it eventually. But obviously anything can happen.

Don't go in expecting anything from this but if the weather REALLY hands your lemonades, it's not a bad idea to discuss it with guest services.

Someone recently posted about it raining on their night and they said they let people hang out in the dessert area (where it's covered) until the rain passed and the show eventually stated. That's a lot better circumstances than everyone else in the rain!

Thank you, I agree, it wouldn't hurt to talk to guest services if it was completely cancelled.

On my 40th birthday, the fireworks were actually postponed. We had been to all four parks that day, and the dessert party was the first thing on our list of things to do in MK that night. After waiting over an hour, we finally decided to leave and try to do some attractions although many were closed due to the lightning storm. I had given up on getting to see the fireworks that night. There was literally no one in the park and it was almost closing time. About 5 minutes before closing, a recording came on saying the fireworks were about to begin. We happened to be right in front of the partner statue and got a great view of the fireworks and with no crowds at all. It was probably a better view and less crowded than we would have had with the dessert party. If I had only known.....
Again, hope this doesn't happen again!
