HE laundry soap made for vending machines?

Now that BWV (and BCV, I think?) have HE washers and dryers in the laundry room, the current soap in the vending machines (at least at BWV) is not supposed to be used. Does anyone know if HE detergent is even available in a vending machine size? It seems that DVC is just asking for trouble with the new machines by continuing to have the wrong soap for sale in the laundry rooms. I am glad I brought my own.
P.S. The new LG machines in the laundry room sure are better than the lame stacking units (esp. the dryers) in the BWV rooms.

I wasn't aware they had made the change to HE machines at the BWV and BCV...thank you for mentioning this as we have a trip to BCV planned for May. Are the new machines only in the laundry rooms or in the individual villas also?

I have an HE machine at home, but have never had a reason to look for the soap in the vending machine size boxes so I can't answer your question. I do agree that I hope Disney doesn't cause problems for itself by only providing soap that shouldn't be used.

Same old appliances in the units. BWV gets refurbishment starting in about May. It will be interesting to see if the stacking ones are replaced with better quality stacking ones. Also hope the ranges with the crooked burners get replaced. Many of the refrigerators are getting tiny rust spots.

I too like the new machines but....don't mind 'roughing it' at DVC just to be at the best place one Earth.

I used the stuff in the vending machines at BWV last fall. Because the washer was HE, I used only half a box per load and my clothes got clean. I figured the stuff in the vending machines just hadn't caught up with what it was being used for. I like the new machines, btw.

I'd love to see the BWV refurb include HE machines in the villas, but I think that might be a little pricey. Does anyone make stacked HE machines? But I'd "suffer" with the old ones - just because they're so convenient.

I just returned from a week in a 2BR "Modified Handicapped" room at SSR. It didn't have a roll in shower, but did have lower counters, etc. However, it did have a front loading Maytag Neptune stack W/D. I only used 1/2 of the box of detergent they left for me. It had to be the quietest washer I have ever used.

That's nice to hear! Maybe there is hope that we'll get them during the BWV refurb. (Along with a few other appliances. I agree that many are getting somewhat long in the tooth. Those crooked burners on the stoves drive me nuts.)

When we toured the BLT models, they still showed the "regular" stack W/D. I was assuming this one had the front loading since it was a "handicapped" room.

I don't know, but my clothes all looked wonderful, and it even did a nice job washing the car keys (with built in electrical fobs) when DH left them in his pockets (after reassuring me he had emptied them). Luckily the electricl unlock still worked after the washing. I am assuming it was the extra duty spin cycle.
