Cross your fingers wise people of Disboards. We recently came off an amazing family trip on the WBPC in April. While it was amazing my DH said no cruising until 2020. Me, in my post Disney cruise funk, couldn't help but do a little research. Tonight I casually proposed maybe a 'just us' cruise in January for our 15th wedding anniversary fully expecting him to roll his eyes and say no lol. But, he just paused and asked how much. So of course I looked it up and found us the perfect cruise on the Magic. I know that my Mom would come stay with the kids in a heartbeat. He didn't say yes but also didn't say no, he said 'lets think about it for a week but I like the idea.' Squeee!!! Cross your fingers, that would mark off 3 of the 4 ships for us!!

How exciting, "let's think about it" is as good as yes in my book. I really enjoyed reading your recent trip report, so I will be looking forward to reading another in Jan!! 2020 is just too long to wait. Anytime my dh and I are thinking about a cruise I always tell him he better mean it if he tells me yes, because I will have a cruise booked 30 seconds after I hear him say yes. We did our honeymoon on the Magic 17 yrs ago. We're booked on the Fantasy next Jan, but I've already decided our cruise after that will be on the Magic, don't even care where it goes!!

You could add on a birthday or two and a national holiday (Canada and Mexico count) to help build your case for that next cruise. The Magic was our first cruise...EBPC many years ago, now it is the Wonder. Who cares?? The water mouse is always fun and certainly worth celebrating on. Perhaps subtle reminders to your hubby about a Mickey Bar here and a unique excursion there, might get him more enthused...whatever works. Good luck!!

book it now before price goes up - you can always cancel. I think the rest of 2019 is coming out soon and IIRC they usually do a price hike around then for all cruises. Plus, phone line are crazy busy to book

You're on the right track! This is how I usually start when a get a DCL cruise bug.
Did it a few weeks ago and we just got back Monday from a great 3 night Dream cruise. It was so relaxing.
Ahhhhhhh.........

Good Luck! :)

"Let's think about it" equates to yes...book that sucker! :) At least in my house. lol Fingers are crossed for you!

If you've done the look-up and know that's the one you'd want, get your TA to put a hold on a room. You don't want to miss out on a perfect room and going to DH in a few days and saying you have a hold "just in case" might be the thing that pushes him towards the cruise.

Good luck.

My DH is the same way! The excitement will probably build, no that the seed is planted and he will say YES! I mean, who would say no to a Disney cruise?!?!:confused3

If your dh is like mine, tell him the cruise can be his Christmas and anniversary present for you (and yours to him). My dh will agree to that just so he won't have to go shopping for other presents!!:P

:worship:
I don't know why I didn't think of that, but I might have to try that. Do you think the kids (teens) will go for it, too? They did love their last cruise.

And booked!!!!! 248 days to go, SO happy to have a countdown again!!!
Nice! I was trying to convince DH to let us add on a 3 nt cruise for February vacation since we can only go into parks through the Tuesday of February break (annual pass expires that Wednesday)...hasn't worked yet. It doesn't help that a Bahamas itinerary holds no interest for him...and we're not really 'beach' people. We'll see...I'll be booking our DVC stay in mid-July...maybe I'll get lucky and the cruise I'm looking at will go *GT before then...

My husband says “this was our last cruise” after every cruise we have taken. I hit him gently with exciting itineraries at decent prices. It always seems to peak his interest and we always end up booking. We have been on 6 so far and 7 & 8 are now booked. Good luck. I find the less I talk about it and the less I push the more successful I am.

Persistence lol. And I highlighted the fact that it can be changed/cancelled until the 90 day mark, then he didn’t feel like he had to fully commit just yet LOL!

Using the “ we can always cancel or switch” strategy is always successful for me as well. Enables you to lock in at a good price.

I just did this exact strategy with an upcoming Vegas trip! LOL
