Hddr ????

We have a PS for the 7:15 show, and I am thinking about watching the Electric Light Parade at 9:45. I am assuming we won't be able to see the fireworks from there - is this correct?

HDD lasts 2 full hours- right? Is the 30 minutes between the show end and ELP enough to get to a good spot to see it? How much time does the ELP take?

We've never done HDDR, so I'm thinking it would make more sense to drive our own vehicle from AKL? What is the set-up of HDD? I know it is inside, but we've never been inside Ft. Wilderness. When we get there, where do we go? Should we go early to see the petting zoo?

If you drive to Ft Wilderness, you will have to park in the lot and take the internal bus to Pioneer Hall, so allow a little extra time for that.

The hall is a short walk from the beach, so if the Light Parade is at 9:45, you would have plenty of time to see it from the beach at Ft W.

I don't know the hours of the petting zoo, I will see if I have any old Ft W Gazettes to look it up. I also can't help with the fireworks question. We used to be able to see some of the fireworks from the beach, but I suspect there's a lot you'd be missing.

I'm trying to figure out my plans to get to the HDDR too. Pioneer Hall is really close to the boat dock where the launch from the MK comes in. I would like to be able to drink sangria and not worry about driving.

Hmmmm, now I am wondering if we should not drive...I'd like to be able to enjoy that sangria, and let dh enjoy his beer . I wonder if we took the boat back to MK, if we would end up at a time when the mass exodus would be happening? But I didn't realize we'd have an internal bus to ride either.

We will definitely watch Wishes on the next night, so if we don't have a good view, it will be okay... just thought it might be a little bonus to be able to see some that night too.

We went in Nov/03 and Pioneer Hall is very easy to find from the MK boat landing. After the dinner show we saw the fireworks on the beach after HDDR and on our boatride back to MK. It was amazing. My DS was in awe (as was I).
If you would rather not go back to MK by boat, why not try the buses to DTD then back to your resort? That may work, and maybe slip in some PI time or some extra shopping?

Boat landing at MK? I have gone over mk over in my mind a thousand times and can't see in my minds eye where the landing is. Any help would be appreicated.

Boat Docks: Instead of going right after you go thru the turnstyles for the monorail you go straight ahead. There are boats to TTC, WL, FW, GF & Poly.

Last summer the petting zoo was open 10 Am to 5 PM.

Thanks georgina! Sounds like we would have to really get there early for our 7:15 dinner if we want to enjoy the petting zoo.
