I've read a lot of positive reviews on the HDDR. While I know every child is different - I was curious if young children generally enjoy it, even if they are too young to get corny jokes? Or if they would get bored?

If you took a young child, how did they react?

Thank you for sharing.

My young children LOVE HDDR. It is a blast for the whole family. I see that your daughter's are 5---what a great age, and they should love the show.

Thank you! That is helpful to know. It sounds fun & gets good reviews. I just didnt want fidgety children. :)

DD(6) is the Queen of Fidget...but she's been going to HDDR since she was 2 and loves it every time. Your DD's will have a blast!

My just-shy-of-four-year-old son loved it. I doubt he "got" the jokes, but it was loud and lots of music, and he picked up on the fact that everyone else was having a good time. He loved playing the washboard at the end, too.

DS2, on the other hand, had a major problem with the noise. DD2 was kind of in the middle.

My kids have been there at the same age and LOVED it! Of course they don't get all of the jokes, but the show is just silly and fun. They laughed so much.:lmao: My kids are fidgety too and they stayed in their seats most of the time.:hyper: This is a must do for us every trip.:thumbsup2

I took a chance and booked this for our trip in February. We are from the UK and I was a bit worried that my grumpy husband wouldn't enjoy the American humour and that the two kids wouldn't get the jokes but we loved it.

This will definitely be an every trip meal for us in future. Sixbits is hilarious. The audience participation is great fun but not uncomfortable and the food was good basic food.

Thank you everyone. We are still a long way from ADR time, but I will put this on our list to try for when that 90 day mark comes around. :)

I have one other question, please.

Do they do anything special for birthdays? We will be celebrating our twins birthday while we are there - and I was wondering where to have it. Last year we celebrated at CRT. Would HDDR be a fun place to do it? And can you order a birthday cake like some of the other dining places?

I remember the performers ask if there are any birthdays in the audience. They then go around to the tables and state the persons name and how old they are. I don't know if they get to every table though.

If I recall correctly, at some point during the show, the cast walks around and talks to tables. If there were any special occasions, they yell them out and everyone claps.:woohoo: There were a few honeymoons and anniversaries on our last HDDR.:bride::groom:

Our baby was 13 months old when we went...And our other DS was only 2....They both loved it...The smiled almost the whole time and clapped along at many parts...They were not bored at all....It was great family fun.

Glad to hear the good reviews for HDDR. I am a ways out yet from ADR but am considering this one for myself, DH and 9 yr. DS. :goodvibes

My sons were 6 & 9 when we took them. They enjoyed it tremedously. My 9 year old got picked for the kid role in the show but he won't do it.
