HDDR: Salad dressing & alternative dessert question?

I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of salad dressing they use at HDDR?

Can you ask for the dressing on the side?

Also, I am allergic to strawberries & I noted this on our reservation. I don't need them to go out of their way to serve me anything special for dessert, but will they serve the strawberries on the side so my DF can pour them on his and I can eat my portion plain?

It is a vinagrette ,they make it in-house.-you can actually find the recipe here on the boards or other sites. I believe it is called the Pioneer Hall Vinaigrette. As for dessert I'm sure they would be happy to provide an alternative--just ask! Usually whatever is being served next door@ the buffet is available @ HDDR. Call the restaurant directly.

I am sure they would have no problem putting the dressing on the side or providing you with a different dressing. You could also get just plain ice cream for dessert. My son did this. Enjoy yourself! I love HDDR.

It's easy to get the salad without dressing or another dressing. I also can't have strawberries and they just served me a plain piece of cake with whipped cream.

I'm not much of a dessert eater, so I feel like going through the trouble of asking for an alternative might be a waste because I'm not sure I would eat much of it. I'm honestly fine with just a few bites of shortcake without strawberries.

I am a big salad eater though and although I like vinaigrette, I've read that HDDR tends to put alot of dressing on their salad & that would ruin it for me. I"ll plan to ask for dressing on the side & not on the salad.

We are going for Christmas Eve!! I wonder if they will do or serve anything special for the holiday???
