HDDR question

Can I drive to HDDR myself and park there, or do you have to take WDW transportation to get there? Is there a fee to park there?

We are seeing the 7:15 show - I was thinking we'd leave at 6:30 from OKW if we are driving ourselves, 6:00 (from OKW of course) if taking the WDW bus - would you suggest earlier/later?

By the way, I've read other threads that say something about picking up tix at HDDR. No one mentioned this when we made our ADRs. We have a conf #, but are we supposed to pick tix up somewhere?

This is my best advice, there is really no place to park for Hoop. Hop on a bus to MK, take the boat over to Ft. Wilderness. I would allow at least 1 hour to 90 minutes for travel, just in case of bus problems and such. Also if you want to have the family picture taken. Hope that helps!

First of all, I picked up our Hoop Dee Doo Review tickets at the Concierge desk at our resort when we checked in.

Next, every time I asked a Disney castmember (when I called to make the reservation, at the CBR Concierge desk and a castmember at the Magic Kingdom), I was told the easiest way to get to the Hoop Dee Doo was by Disney transportation. (I also told them I had my own car.)

We took a bus to the Magic Kingdom and hopped on the Wilderness Resort/Fort Wilderness boat. It took us straight to the Hoop Dee Doo. It took us about 45 minutes to make it from the CBR to Fort Wilderness.

If you drive, you'll still have to hop a bus from the parking lot down to HDDR. You'll need to leave time to check in and pick up your tickets plus get your family pictures done if you want them done outside. I would give 1 hour - 1.5 hours, unless coming directly from a MK resort or the MK. Just can take a while even if you drive.

If you get there early, you can walk around the store, go check out the lake, etc.

From OKW it is an easy and rather short drive to the Outpost parking lot of Fort Wilderness. Turn left out of OKW and then right at the light. Take another left at the T. Watch for signs to FW after you see the sign for the golf course. You want the first turn in.

You will then need to catch an internal FW bus to Hoop dee Doo. There is no charge for parking.

One time when we dined at the Hoop, I needed to pick up a prescription for a child so I drove. After dining, I took the bus back to the parking lot and drove back to the GF. I beat my husband and children by quite a bit...around half an hour I would guesstimate.

If driving, I would leave by 6:15 if you're sure of your directions and don't want pictures.

You can pick up your tickets at the Hoop or at lobby concierge.

The parking Lot and show are very far apart. if you drive you must take a FW bus to the settlement. Any bus (Purple line, Yellow line or Orange line) will get you there.

If you choose to use WDW transportation exclusively, yes you can go to MK and take the boat to FW.

BUT if the MGM bus arrives at your resort first, hop on. Then hop on the FW bus at MGM. It will take you directly to the settlement, only a few steps from the show.

Driving is not that big of a deal. Like others have said, you park at the Outpost parking lot and catch a bus down to Pioneer Hall.

Just don't wait to leave until 6:30. Remember, your show starts at 7:15. You don't want to be running in the door at that time. I would leave no later than 6:15.

Also, you need tickets for this show. Go to any concierge or guest services and pick up your tickets. You can also get them at the HDD box office if you want.

We stay at BCV and find it very convient to take our car. Like others have said just park for free at the outpost and take anyone of the settlement buses in. We pick up our tickets when we check in and like to arrive earlyto the show so we can explore the area around Pioneer Hall. Have a great time.
