HDDR CC question

I knopw you need a credit card to hold a reservation. Do they automatically charge the card or can you pay with cash when you get there?

Just made my ressies last night for December. She took my credit card number and told me that I had two options:
1. I could pay the total now while on the phone, or
2. I had to pay the total 21 days in advance of our dinner date and my cc would just "hold" the reservation.

She said I would get a confirmation letter in the mail and it would let me know when the total had to be paid in full (21 days before). If I did not pay it by that date, the ressie would cancel.

So, no, you can not pay in cash.

OK, now I made my reservation for October, I never was told that 21 day in advance payment was due, and it has been over 3 months since I made it and I haven't received any confirmation. So ... this is either a very new policy or they person you talked to was wrong. I remember that I asked if I could pay cash at the door and I was told yes, as this is my plan. I would call and verify what the above poster and what I have told you to see what exactly is done.

I recently made ressies for HDDR-CM took CC but no charge has shown up yet. Ressies were made for Oct 6th. I have not recieved a confirmation in the mail either...

I should clarify and say that I called Group Dining...if that makes a difference. I have a party of 13, so maybe what they told me only applies to large groups. I spoke to Rita at Group Dining and Francis at CRO who transfered me.

donna -- YES you can pay cash! when i made our ressies about 1 month ago and i had the cm go over all the policies with me. he specifically said you can pick up the tickets when you check in and your cc is not charged so you can pay cash if you want to. they will charge the card if you are a no-show though.

athena's mommy -- i think the rules are different for group dining.

The rules ARE different for Group Dining.

For non-groups, you definitely can pay with cash when you pick up your tickets, which you should do at Guest Services at your resort, any time from seven days prior on. The credit card is just used to guarantee the reservation.

Question...if you're not staying in a WDW resort, when/where do you pick up the tickets and can you still pay cash at that time?

Haven't made a ressie yet, but I'm curious to know...TIA

For the Hoop-Dee-Doo and the Luau, any party larger than 7 people will need to pay in full 21 days in advance. For more information on WDW PS credit card policies, click HERE

There's Guest Services right at Pioneer Hall where the HDDR is held. It's just to the left of the main entrance and next to the public restrooms. You can pick up your tickets there and pay for them any way you like.

Now, go make your PS!!
