I've seen this somewhere on the board but cannot find it now. Who do I call to tell HDDR that we have a vegetarian in our group. (We already made the reservations). And how muc notice do they need?

Call the DINE line and they'll connect you as needed.

Keep in mind this meal is a big sacrifice for the vegetarian. The offering, if there is one will be poor and not even close to the 2TS or $50 value they'll pay for the meal. Hopefully you plan to make it up to them at some other meal.

I am speaking as a vegetarian who won't ever book the dinner shows because they aren't good values or good meals in my opinion. I've been a vegetarian for over 35yrs. I won't do "just have the salad" anymore; been there done that. If I'm paying like everyone else I want as good a meal as everyone else and I just don't think that is possible at those shows. I might have to sit there with a mound of fried chicken in front of me and that's not so fun either.

Hope the show is fun and your vegetarian doesn't think like me.

Actually, I'm the vegetarian and I expect the food will not be as good or worth the money but everyone in my group (me included) really want to see the show!

Well I still think you should make it up to yourself. ;) :thumbsup2
Enjoy the show.

This whole trip is my bribe! Hee, hee! I begged and pleaded and bribed to get two weeks in Disney. My husband kept insisting we could see everything we wanted over a long weekend. Ha! But perhaps I will eat multiple servings of strawberry shortcake to make up for the likely "blah" veggie dinner I will eat!

you DH is SO wrong! So so much to see, hopefully you will see most of it in 2 weeks ;)

Definitely call the Disney Dining line and add it to your ADR. Give them your ADR and let them know any and all dietary situations that need to be accounted for. Also, try going to the DISabilities board and chatting over there. I know there are many Veg's that post regularly and have excellent suggestions on what to do/not do.

Best Wishes for a fabu trip!

My vegan sister calls every TS meal a week ahead of time and speaks to a chef. She is always able to request a meal be made specifically for her and usually requests they have tofu available. It's never been a problem anywhere except LTT where they insisted she would be fine with what they served. She wasn't happy with the salad and veggie sidedish and ended up getting a veggie burger after we finished. That's never happened again and now she wouldn't let it anyway. If you are paying full price you should have a full meal like everyone else.

Thanks for all the great advice!!! I will definitely call and add it to my ADRs and I will call again a week in advance to make sure the restuarant knows as well.
And, yes, my husband is SOOOO wrong! Wait until he sees how much we miss because we are JUST gonig for two weeks. Ha!

I made HDDR ressies this morning and the CM said there wasn't a spot for her to note the veggie option. She read off her screen that it said for the vegetarian option, to call the restaurant at least 24 hr ahead to tell them at 407-824-2803.

HTH!
